Not only did Jurassic World have the biggest global opening of all time, the film has now gone on to secure the title of biggest debut weekend ever.
According to Variety, the numbers are still being added, but the blockbuster has managed a total of about $209 million, dethroning Marvel's The Avengers, which previously held the record at $207.4 million.
Originally, Universal had anticipated the dinosaur adventure flick to bring in $204.6 million, but the film enjoyed a much stronger Sunday than expected. Box office analysts say that it may have been the buzz surrounding Jurassic World's monster opening that inspired audiences to hit the theaters, however, Chris Pratt's star power from last year's Guardians of the Galaxy couldn't have hurt.
