Ever since Just Cause 3 was revealed late last year, developer Avalanche has been stressing a few key points: freedom of choice, increased player mobility, and more explosions. Today at Gamescom I got to see more of all that, but for the first time Avalanche also demonstrated how the upgrade and vehicle collection systems work.
Every vehicle in the game is collectible. From beat-up little hatchbacks to that helicopter you see in the distance to the jet ski on the shore, if you can drive it you can own it. All you have to do is get it to one of your many garages. Each town you liberate on the island of Medici contains a garage for your use.
Of course, getting a jet ski to a garage could prove difficult, as you can’t exactly ride it up the beach onto the street. (Just Cause 3 is crazy, but not that crazy.) So collecting some of these vehicles will be a challenge of its own. You may want to try tethering a jet ski to a helicopter and fly it over to a garage, for instance.
