They have very good airflow for good clouds but you can't really drip them you have to paint the coils or you will leak very bad

well leaking is no fun but apparently its an evil that cant be avoided lol im pretty new to this so im on a bit of a learning curve. when you say paint the coils you mean drip directly to the coils instead of filling the drip well?

Yes exactly but they make a very cool vape and nice clouds.

ever ran it with vertical coils? that's what my buddy said to do. he said he angles the coils directly at the air vents and wicks the outside instead of the inside with the bottom of the wicks hitting the inside and wrapped around the center posts. he complains of leaking too but apparently its not too bad for him. ive only built 2 coils so im completely new to that aspect. although they turned out pretty good at .46 ohms and they vape great in my cheap no name rba.

I've only done a few vertical coils and they were fragon coils. Which are very tiny fused clapton coils and you cover the entire coil except the top hole and middle with cotton. Lots of cotton and lots of juice but insane amount of vapor.

ive only done 2 basic single coils but think im going to build a duel parallel setup tomorrow. been practicing here at work (im lucky to get paid to do nothing... literally... not as fun as you might think...) and built several coils out of some random wire we had laying around. no idea what the ohms would be as I was just practicing the wrapping and they looked good and pretty even but tomorrow ill use my kanthal and see what I get. ive got the sig 150 tc so worst case itll say low resistance. ill be using the steam engine calculator to figure out my ohms. im shooting for .5-.6

Duel parallels with kanthal you'd have to do like 15wraps!

My son was using one. Worked excellent. It comes with little silicone plugs for the bottom air holes if leaking is to much for you. If you wick it right it don't leak though.

The manufacturing is nearly flawless. I leave the bottom plugs in, but it really spits out the side air holes. It performs awesome, but it makes a mess no matter how I build it.

might be a bit much to ask, but could you get a pic from him showing how to wick it right lol

Mutations vape well, they will leak bad if you over drip. I finally got tired of the leaking and switched to a Troll, then a Velocity. To me the Troll, and Velocity are about even. My Mutation vapes every bit as well, but it does leak a little. I think parallel is the way to go. My favorite is 26 gauge Kanthal, 6 wraps parallel, 2.5 id. .2 Ohm

I actually built my coils this morning. dual twisted 28ga kanthal came out to .23 ohms. vaped well but was destroying my batteries. so once I got to work I pulled out my little homemade kit and made a new coil. this one is in at 1.7 (higher than I intended) but im going to try it anyway. its already in so why not.

when it comes to the mutation ill probably keep it between .2-.5 and possibly buy another tank (maybe a crown) for day to day. as mentioned above, im still on a very large learning curve so im sure ill make some expensive mistakes and buy some junk before I find what I want lol

That's one of the nice things about VU. We are able to hear about other peoples experiences. I can definitely go through some batteries. Add a good charger like the Efest LUC V4 to your short list. They run about $25. The crazy thing about raising resistance to extend batteries is that you get less vape. If you stay on the button longer to get more vape, you end up about where you started on battery life. Running 80 watts @ ,2 ohms, I go through almost 2 sets of Samsung 25rs a day. I burn up 20-30 ml of juice a day though

yeah I was able to test my 1.7 ohm out and wasn't happy with it. had to run at almost double the watts and stay on the fire longer. ill have to find that sweet spot (if it exists lol)

You can control the leaking if you pay close attention to how much you drip or by painting the juice on. This is what i got in mine.

Its a fog machine for sure.

He's away right now. But, when you get the wick down into the holes make sure there is space around it. Then when you drip the juice onto the cotton be careful not to put to much and wet the cotton and take your dripper and get it between the cotton and the sides of the holes and carefully fill that portion on each side without over doing it.
