Kanger coil leaking and spitting. Can I use cheap cotton ball as plug?

Hey, ok so Im fairly new to vapeing. I got a cheap kangertech kbox mini with a subox tank and the coil it came with was a .5 occ. It has been leaking since the first hit. And it also started spitting...up into my mouth, ugh nastiness every single hit in the back of my throat.
I watched some youtube vids and ppl said it was either the 0 ring or the cotton. It was not the o rings. they are all perfect. the cotton however, looks ragged... little holes and what not in the side holes of the atomizer.
What I did was use very cheap dollar store cotton ball.. used very little cotton and plugged up the holes the way I saw in a youtube video.
HOWEVER, this is where the problem occurs further.... The hits were tight and no spitting occured at all...BUT i was getting VERY harsh throat hits...it tasted like a hit from a dry coil every time if I hit too hard..and some times it wudnt smoke at all.. I packed the cotton loosely like the video said, and fluffed it out...
I was wondering if anyone knows a solution (other than new coils). Because Im right back to a leaky, spitting tank after I took it out.

2nd: How old is the coil?

3rd: Make sure if you are using store bought cotton that it is ORGANIC cotton. You don't wanna be vaping any chemicals they may have used to treat the cotton.

4: plugging up the holes with cotton stops the airflow... you have to have airflow.. this is why it's tasting burnt.

thanks for response...so what do i do??? Other than spending money on new coil? Iv trid using very litle cotton and it was great for like5 mins then it hit rlly harsh again.... IM using organic cotton balls from the store...very little cotton on both holes.... im rlly trying to avoid spending cash... do u kno what im doing wrong with the amount of cotton on the way im doing it?

You never answered me about the age of the coil... how long have you been using the current coil?

the vape was given to me bcuz my friend got a 200w...So i dont know how long, but definitely a long time....

That's probably your problem... coil needs replaced. Once the coil has worn out, the cotton burns down and they start to leak. I'm sure a fresh new coil will fix the issue.
