KANGER DANGER

What I use first. I have a ipv mini that runs off of a 18650 battery. And a Aspire CF Sub. Have a kanger sub tank mini run .5 coils. 70/30 vg

The problem I am having is random dry hits. Put new coils in last for about a day then it comes back. The aspire runs at a constant 40w. And I run the ipv mini from 17-22w. The box's are a little old.

This is getting really old and fast. Coils are not getting any cheaper. I wet the new coil for 5-10 mins.

My thought is that the chip is going bad causing over heat.

PLEASE HELP I WANT TO VAPE AGAIN.

Try taking a pin or a needle and sticking it in the cotton through the holes of the OCC coil to loosen it up a bit.

A lot of folks say that this helps quite a bit.

I thought I was hitting the cotton dry due to have the air flow all the way open. Then at the local vape shop he said to close it to allow more liquid in. Worked a little. Now I have it at the smallest air flow setting, still getting it. Trying the pin trick to see. I do hit it the tank for a good 5-10 sec everytime.

Sometimes to get the cotton saturated a little faster, I'll close the airflow off completely and inhale without firing. Watch for bubbles to come from the airflow on the coil. If you do that a couple times, it sucks juice into the stock coil. Just don't do it more than that or you'll flood it.

Yes, running 70/30 juice, you'll get better results if you do the needle trick with the coil.

The cotton is packed kind of tightly in some OCC heads, I usually take a pair of sharp tip tweezers and poke and pull a bit of the cotton into the juice holes to improve the wicking and decrease the cotton compaction in the heads.

If you are referring to. Hitting over and over in a short period. Not really. Usually hit it 2-3 times when I VAPE on it. But hit like that 2 to 4 times an hour

Be sure to prime your coils and put juice inside the coil let it set for a couple of minutes then vape.

I would try soaking the coil over night in PG.. Today I will put a new head in mine after I prime it good for a few hours and see what happens.

Same here, I've been having problems with a second batch of OCC coils I bought. I've been waiting for my wire to get to me so I can use the RBA instead, but needing the OCC coils as a back up. This second batch seemed to be giving me alot of nasty hits and I'm only using 21 watts. I tried pushing the cotton back a little bit from the holes, and so far has stopped giving me those nasty tasting hits.

In my experience 40w is too high. I never go past 22w on the sub tank mini. I have heard others going higher but to me it just doesn't work. If you are using a high VG liquid it will be even worst.

Thinking about exactly what you wrote in your post, if you run that tank at 40w until you get a dry hit, you are most likely burning your cotton. After the cotton is burned the coil is pretty much useless. It may wick for a hit or two but the burnt spot really has zero juice in it. Try starting at about 15w with the ipv only, move up in small increments until you get it where you like it. Never go above say 22w. You can try taking a really hard pull every now and then also. The more you close the air flow the more juice delivered to the coil.
