kanger ssocc coils?

hello all and thanks in advance.

just picked up the new topbox mini kit. It comes with one each of the following coils. .5 clapton, .5 ss coil tc, and .15 ni200 tc. I am confused about the ss coil, its marked on the box with "tc" and has a pink o ring. also marked ss on coil its self. it works super good on tc mode, but i cant find more online. all the packing i see says ssocc tc but the wire is ni200 not ss.

Why would they print ss occ if its ni?
Where can i get more of the coils marked ss with pink ring for tc?
I there a difference between the red print ssocc and the "old" occ coils?
I am used to seeing red orings for watt mode, why does the .5 clapton have black orings?
Are "kangertech.com and kangeronline.com one in the same? both legit?

PLease post link if this info is already out there, i tryed but didnt find what i was looking for. thanks again

the ssocc means the coil head casing that screws into the base is stainless steel,,,the coil inside can be nickel200, kanthal or stainless steel...
kanger is really starting to irritate me in that regard... the o rings are supposed to help us denote the different coils and they seem to come with whatever the worker puts on them...my kanthal clapton coils have black o rings and the ni200 have a blue o ring...

from what I know kangeronline is a wholesale site that shows large breaks in prices when ordering large quantities.
if you need to only purchase a few boxes in the US a place like vapenw have the Kanger Subtank SSOCC Coil $11.99 a box versus kangeronline $19.50

If you don't mind waiting about 2 weeks you can order from fasttech and they are way cheaper
Authentic KangerTech SUBTANK SSOCC Coil Head (5-Pack) from $7.91 free shipping with coupon code rmbbust.

I noticed that was your first post so I wanted to say Welcome to Vaping Underground!!!

thanks Conden, if the ssocc and occ (red ring) are nc are they safe for use with tc? i think the links you send are the ones with nc or kan. i nee the ss wire with pink ring. kanger really made a mess of this. "ssocc" is missleading as hell. i want to know about the wire in the coil, of course the body is stainless, arent they all? I dont think the ss-ssocc coils are avalible yet outside the kit, that is a shame cus i like it better then the ni. i guess i should try to contact them direct, although i hear there reply is slow. thanks again!

It's why I spent weeks in a couple of threads where we were trying to figure out what the hell was in them.

And I will never stop being amazed that we had to do that, versus just getting a straight answer from Kanger. Keep in mind that when I tried my own contact attempt, I did NOT tell them we were trying to figure out how to rebuild the attys. People have to select wire types in these stupid TC mod settings... we NEED to know this crap.

Hell, I've got a couple folks this week telling me Crown heads are Kanthal

That's a coincidence. If you want to go another round... I'm within a day or two of having to figure out what those Crown coils are. The pre-assembled one and the loose one in the separately-purchased Crown RBA box.

I can get by w/o knowing. Throw it in the ohm meter, head to steam engine, grab the Ti and start coiling.

Will get that done easily, and the Nebox/Kanger RBA is already kicking some ass with the Ti coils. Wow. She's completely off coil heads now. (In complete contradiction to this thread.)

Has anyone tried the clapton coil heads they put out for the Kangers? Are they any good?

they're not bad, you get a good amount of flavor IMO. if you can roll your own claptons then you aren't missing much. What I've started doing today was taking a coilhead that had old cotton taking out the wire, did 4 slightly spaced wraps and ended up with a .5 Clapton ( reason why I did it is because I'm not proficient in coil building yet)

** note I didn't vape on it as I'm not sure what exactly the wires are made of, I rewrapped for learning purposes without buying wire

like the new occ and clapton. both let more air thru coil head. good flavor on both, same or better then sq head type. little more vapor on claps. when ordering more i will prob go with .5 claps. really want those damn ss .5s but so far no luck. i found the sq head ni .15s suck on top box, slightly less sucky on sigelei 75w. Im not a fan of ni so far.

I'm not a fan of any temp control. Too cool of a vape for me, and way too much work to figure out what temp and watts to vape on. I like to plug and vape ;)

My local shop carries the new type coils all of them, but a 5 bucks a head... -_- gotta love the capitalistic nature of NYC. all of them are pretty good but since I've ventured into the Amateur building era I gave the reg SS and Clapton coils to my brother since he said he cant find them either.

I buy online, much cheaper. Even if not though, I was a 2 pack a day smoker at $8 a pack. So, $5 for a coil that will last me a week at minimum, or $16 a day? Hmmmmmmm, no brainer there. And, that's just the beginning, won't even go into medical bills, and the cost to my health! All of us vapors are much much richer, even at $5 a coil ;)

I am fairly new to vaping and I swear I've been losing my mind trying to find these coils. Everywhere I go they want to give me the OCC coils which are RDA's. The SSOCC are pre-built RBA's right? I've been losing my mind man. Like it's so impossible for me to find info on this. I went ahead and ordered the .5 ohm SSOCC hoping it's the closest thing to what I'm looking for.

The claptons, or any of the lower-ohm SSOCCs?

There are the prebuilt coil heads, the pre-coiled RBAs and the spare/loose coil(s) they normally throw in the RBA box.
The lower ohm. Not the clapton. Either the clapton I had was a dud or it didn't work well with me. And that's great. Ive searched everywhere for these things man. I'm glad j bought the right thing. I'm using the SS one now. (I know it's not SS coils) but I liked this one a lot and it's .5 ohm so I'm hoping it's the closest I can get. I'm telling you, I was so lost for a couple days. Felt like such a noob.

Those .15's are readily available. Just last night, I saw them on two U.S. websites and on FastTech (9 bucks for a 5 pack).
