Kanger Sub Ohm Problems

I've recently been using the kanger subohm, with the .5 OCC Coil in it. I'm using a defender mod, and it's similar to an eLeaf iStick. It was reading my ohm levels, and I noticed it started to change. From a .6 to a 1.4 and up. It would not stay at a settled ohm level. So, I figured the coil was going out, and I changed the coil to the 1.2 ohm coil that comes with the kanger subtank. After all that, it still changes and will not stay at a regular ohm level. What could be the problem?

It is not my mod, I have tried other tanks and they read correctly no problem.

I have had problems with the coil leads/wires cutting into and/or melting the rubber insulator on the bottom of the coil. Pop out the little silver piece on the base and see if the wires over and under the rubber are in it. If they are pull them out and spin the rubber a little bit.
