25mm is the price we pay for having a removable build deck we can replace with a pre-built head. Ideal? No. I am also frugal when it comes to vape gear. I spend my dollars on e-liquid.
The new BPDC heads are backwards compatible with all previous Kanger dual-coil clearomizers with the exception of the 14mm devices. That gives us the options of 19mm, 22mm and larger attys. With today's market, it should give Aspire's BVCs a run for their money. If not, it's a big fail.
Kanger wasn't going to release an RTA deck for the SubTank that didn't perform at least as well as a Kayfun Lite+. Their intention of building with dual-parallel coils on a removable build-deck seems to necessitate the extra size. I have a 19mm DreamTank (Kayfun clone). The build deck is TINY and utilizes push-pins instead of screws. It vapes better than any current clearomizer but does not reach the level of a full-size RTA. Dual coils on the DreamTank? Not a chance...
I'm on the road for up to weeks at a time. The idea of traveling with an RTA that I can throw in a pre-built head should the RTA's build go bad is brilliant. The necessity of swapping out the top cap with the heads (using screws!) makes the process less flexible, convenient and on-the-go friendly.
Like the Aspire Atlantis heads, the BPDCs will run $4-5 each. Definitely too pricey as a regular vape for me. At $40+ each for the SubTank, I can purchase two cloned RTAs or an RTA and a decent clearomizer. Again, the SubTank is probably too pricey for me.
Looks like I'll stick with my current setup. Two Erlkonigin clones and Aerotanks with rebuilt BVC heads. If only nano kits for the Erlk would hit the clone market...
