Kangertech subtank shorted?

Hey all. I'm fairly new to the vape game been vaping for 4 months and I love it ! Sometimes it's fustrating tho. I have an aspire cf maxx 50 watt stick 3000mah and an aspire cf sub ohm 2200mah stick

anyways I have a kangertech subtank the big one with the rba attachment I was rebuilding the coils one day and accidently shorted it out had a small spark happen and after that it wouldn't fire attached to the aspire cf maxx. It will fire if it is half screwed off of the cf maxx. It works fine attached to my aspire sub ohm and I'm stumped if anyone could help it would be much appreciated

Thanks !

The plastic or rubber insulator ring around the connector pin in the CF has been worn down from over tightening or/and juice in it, so when you screw on your attachment that ring spreads causing a short that is recognized by the CF for safety not firing.

I'm not sure if that is the issue tho. I have 2 other tanks and they both work fine on both of my aspire battery's. I have a eleaf lemo2 and an aspire Atlantis. It seem to be just the subtank that doesn't want to work it's almost like the pin on the tank is shorting out.. I've ripped the whole tank down and can't seem to find any issues tho

Yes you are right if other attachments work, but not the pin itself since it works when screwed up a little. Just might be the insulator of the tank then got fried some from the short. Just giving you my best thoughts on this issue without seeing the device.

Okay thank you I don't mean to come off rude or anything it's hard to explain lol. The kangertech subtank has a spring loaded pin on the bottom of it that kinda sticks out and makes contact first it will fire it if just the pin is stuck out and makes contact but when I screw it all the way down so the pin compresses and the whole bottom peice contacts then it glint fire and gives me the 3 blinks like it's shorting... that's why I'm confused lol if I could post some pics I could explain it better I guess. I appreciate the help !

Yes you are on the right path, when the + and - come in contact yep a short occurs. And the insulator prevents this from happening.

The other strange thing is it will only short out on the aspire cf maxx. On the aspire sub ohm it works just like normal lol. Pretty mysterious eh !

You can get contact pins from Kanger for 99 cents.

it might not because you have the original subtank and the pin on that one is different than the new plus or the mini's but if it works with it half screwed in than use it till it stops working and then upgrade your tanks at that time.
