kangertech topbox wattage drop

i recently purchased a topbox kit and it was working fine in tc mode using the preinstalled ni .15 ohm coil but it finally died and changed over to the ss coil that was supplied in the kit now im having a problem when i fire the unit in ss tc mode the wattage drops immediatley to 1.5 to .5 and the mod wont fire i thought it might be a ss issue for i removed and installed the ni coil again after letting it cool and the same issue is occuring currently i have it running in wattage mode with the rba installed and it seems to be working ok but would rather be running it in tc mode as this is why i purchased the unit does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this ive completey dissasembled and cleaned the unit and there are no problems from what i can see

+1 on returning it. Although I'm a lil confused when you say "wattage drops immediately to 1.5 to .5". I wouldn't think that the device is capable of, or has the ability to, read or adjust down to less than 7 or so watts. Do you mean the ohm reading? In either case, it sounds like an IC board level failure when the unit attempted to fire the S.S. coil, and it isn't recovering when you switch back to Ni mode.

Welcome to the Vaping Underground forum! Glad you found us here, and I hope they sort your problem quickly. Hopefully, you have some backup devices while you wait for a resolution to your problem? Vape on, @mrgbean !

The same thing happened with mine. I called Eciggity, where I got it, and they are going to replace it. I sent them a video of it failing. I was using mine with the stainless steel .5ohm SSOCC coil in TC mode. Periodically I would press the fire button and the temp. reading would fluctuate and volts would show ~.4 to .6 and not fire. After releasing the button and re-pressing it, it would work fine...wierd.

I would also like to say something about Eciggity. I bought the unit ~2+ months ago before it started failing. Eciggity was very helpful and understanding about the issue and offered to replace it no problem. Their customer service is some of the best I have ever dealt with, very friendly.

I hope you have luck getting yours to work or getting it replaced hassle free.
