Kanthal core and SS for Clapton

Hello,

Since I have at least 100 feet of 30g SS wire and tons of 26g Kanthal I was thinking about making clapton coil from them. My only concern is that electricity takes the path of least resistance. Im aware that 26g will have lower resistance than 30g IF they are made from the same material. The problem is that SS have much lower resistance in general.

So my question is: Is it a good idea to wrap 26g kanthal A1 with 30g SS316L?

No. Need 36gauge wrap wire at the biggest.

30g will not perform well. It will absolutely eat your batteries and take forever to ramp up. Better off with twisted wire than wrapping with 30g. Order some 36,38, or 40g for wrap.
