I was searching for stainless wire and stumbled on www.kidneypuncher.com and looked at their wire. Supposed to be less springy than traditional SS. I'm not endorsing them or their wire. I don't know how this wire is made to be easier to build with. I also don't know if there's an equivalent wire from another vendor/manufacturer.

I literally just started building last night. Running dual 316L Claptons 26/30 for .3 ohm. I'm as green as green can get so any help would be appreciated.

What makes this wire different?
Overall wire performance?
Alternate sources for said wire?
Is TCR effected?

Thanks for any help y'all can provide.

IMO, SS 316L = SS 316L. In other words, there's no difference. If you're worried your wire (Kanthal or SS) is too springy, put a torch to it before wrapping your coils.

kidneypuncher uses Sandvik stainless steel from Sweden which is top quality unlike Chinese stainless... I know some of the top builders use KP wire when building coils for customers.

FYI try getting smaller gauge wire for the wrap wire on your Claptons. Less of a ramp up time. Rule of thumb is 10 gauges higher than the core wire. So for your 26 gauge core try some 36 gauge.

Yeah I found out about that ramp up after I built it. Mod does preheat so that helps but, I don't really want to use that feature hence my wire search. It was free wire so I can't complain. Good to know KP wire is quality stuff. Appreciate the info on Clapton wire. Totally green but catching on pretty quick I think.
