While Star Wars: The Last Jedi wasn't intended to be Carrie Fisher's final Star Wars movie, director Rian Johnson hopes Leia's story in the film provides a "kind of emotional satisfaction" to fans of the franchise.
"Carrie gives a really beautiful performance in the film," Johnson told Good Morning America. "We obviously didn't make the movie to be her final film—final Star Wars movie. Given that though, I think there are scenes that she has that are going to mean a lot to people," he added.
