Lessons learned: weak vape in TC

I only use TC. And with all my RTAs, I only use SS. I've had various problems.... Weak cold vape. I've played with higher than necessary TCRs. Had a couple discussions on spaced coils and dual coils in TC. There may be a few problems going on with others. In my case I finally figured it out and put 2 and 2 together.

Poor wicking! I keep tackling it by using a higher TCR. Making it hotter. Gives me better vape, but I know it's not right. But other times, the higher TCR would give me a ton of hot vape.

We'll finally, after few other things happened, it's just not wicking enough. Been playing around, and my coils are starved for juice. In TC, I don't get a burnt hit, just a weak vape. And I know I have plenty of coil that can do more. So after playing with wicking, it's definitely my wicking.

After doing a lot of research on TC problems... I suspect, wicking causes a lot more problems than people think when it comes to weak TC vapes.

I think I agree with you. But..... What about the same weak flavor issue with manufactured coils? I'm pretty frustrated with TC right now to be honest.

Can't say. I only have Crowns. I stepped up to that from sub tank mini and cloupor mini. I got a D2. So the Crown was awesome, in power mode. Use in TC now. The SS coils need to use a 304 TCR because of the nickle legs. But that is a minor juke.

Bottom line is between power and TC on Crown pre made SS coils I don't have much of a problem. Pretty consistent performance.

So I don't know know about others. And I don't mean to say there are not other issues that can cause weak vape in TC. But for builders, I think it's a unrecognized problem. In all me research, I've yet to see it identified as a problem. But it has been for me.
