Level-5, the studio behind the Professor Layton, Ni No Kuni and Yo-kai Watch franchises, has acquired Mighty No. 9 developer Comcept.
As reported in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu (translation via Gematsu), the acquisition has resulted in the formation of a new subsidiary known as Level-5 Concept.
Akihiro Hino, the president and CEO of Level-5, as well as Comcept founder Keiji Infanune discussed the acquisition, which will combine the philosophies of both companies to form a new studio with Comcept's core staff and involvement of Hino.
