Where to start with this turd of an article...
First: The title:
"Liquid nicotine used in e-cigarettes can kill children"
"It's not just children getting poisoned. A Miami Poison Center educator says there have been 15 cases of liquid nicotine poisoning in Lee County since 2013. Ten of those cases involved toddlers swallowing or tasting the liquid. Five involved adults."
15 cases in 2 years and NO DEATHS!
Only 10 Child cases in 2 years and the headline is "Liquid Nicotine Kills Kids???
There is NO DEAD CHILDREN IN THE ARTICLE AT ALL!
I'd be willing the bet that 15 people had been harmed by falling off of ladders in those 2 years in that same county
I'd be willing the bet that 15 people had DIED from Alcohol poisoning in those 2 years in that same county
I'd be willing the bet that 15 people had had a fucking boner for longer than 4 hours from taking viagra in those 2 years in that same county
Why ring the alarm about eliquid???
Second:
Why do these public health people use the terms liquid nicotine (99.9% free base nicotine) and eliquid (0 to 3.6% MAX nicotine) interchangeably like they are the same thing when we know damn well that they know the difference?
Because "Liquid Nicotine" sounds really scary.
Third:
"In two of those cases, adults mistook the bottle of liquid nicotine for eyedrops. The others drank the liquid, trying to get high."
Are you fucking kidding me?
What they are not telling you is there are 0 cases of problems if eliquid is used as directed by responsible parents.
Where are the parents at when kids are getting in to their eliquid?
When I was a child in th early 80's my MOTHER was responsible if I fucked up.
If I accidentally knocked a baseball through a neighbors window that meant my Mom had to pay for it. (Then I paid for it in a different way when my Father got home from work)
The ONLY good part of the very, very short story:
"Jeanna Willard said she was able to quit smoking cigarettes after more than 35 years because of vaping. "I think vaping is a great thing.""
