Had problems at first too, but a great little rta. Might be a bit tricky for a first rta though.

Is it only leaking right after filling?

If so, the leaking is due to a change in the tank pressure. To remedy this, fill the tank with the airflow closed. Twist on the cap. Take 2 small pulls with airflow closed, open airflow, take 2 puffs. Should be good to go.

If this did not fix it, it is for sure a wicking issue.

Wish i had photos or video, but will try to explain what I do.

First off, I don't do the most recommended wicking which involves putting the top ring on over the wick, and trimming at the base, tuck it in with a needle.

I run my wick thru the coils, put the ring on, pull the cotton up thru the ring, cut to less than 1.5mm longer than the ring, fluff it out, gently tuck it in just to cover juice holes. Take your time and tuck it in with a piece of wire to keep it fluffy. This is with 80%vg. 50/50 i used the other wicking method.

Best of luck. Easy once you figure it out. But would be a frustrating RTA to learn on.

Awesome flavor though. Will be worth the frustration.

One other thing that worked for me. For whatever reason, cotton balls work better than pads on this one. At least for me. Why? No friggin idea. But works for me.

Check out the video I posted. This guy hasn't had any leaks, and he shows how to wick the moonshot in the video.

And one last thing... I have seen alot of ppl say that the ideal vape on the moonshot is between 30-50watts.. Whats do you guys run it at?

Depends on your coil build.

Normal dual coil 28g kanthal 8.5 wrap 35w. Twisted kanthal dual coil 28g 8.5 wrap 55w.

And a dry hit should not happen. Either under primed or choked wick.

After vaping on the moonshot for a few hours i have found that the dry hit comes when i turn up the wattage. I vape my drippers around 80w so i tried to see how the MS tastes at 80..and ...boom.. Dry hit immediately everytime.. Do you think its still a wicking issue or is it just not meant to vape to high?

They say can vape up to 200w. I cannot see how anybody can fit a 200w build in there. Plus it would get scalding hot.

But nobody can answer what wattage you like to vape but you. If you like the way it vapes at 80w, but dry hits sometimes, you might need to tinker with some aspect of your build (coil specs or wicking).

What coils do you have in there? (Metal type, gauge, wraps, diameter, spaced vs touching?) Rtas work better for me with spaced wraps. Otherwise can get hot spots that singe the cotton in one spot. I also like 26-28g in this rta. 24 just holds too much heat and continues to cook. Plus gets the tank super hot.

I have 24g kanthal. 8 wraps..3mm ID and its reading .35 ohms on my cuboid.. Im thinking maybe if i put a fused clapton on it id be able to push a little more wattage but idk for sure

Edited above post. Fused 2x28/36(or smaller) might work. But imho simpler coils have worked better for me in this tank. Havent tried fused in there, but regular claptons were a PITA to get situated on that deck. But trial and error is key. Whats good for me is not necessarily good for you.

It's a finicky rta for sure. It typically needs FAR more wick than a standard rta to prevent leaks. There's a bit of a learning curve but this particular tank is worth it once you have it set up.

My simple coils for Moonies are 3-3.5mm, 26G or twisted dual strand 28G. between.35 and .50Ohm. I like warmer vape so I run em 100W+. With no dry hits. Organic cotton pads, Scottish wick. I wick it dry. Put the ring over the wicks and press it down until it leaves the mark on the wicks. Take the ring off and cut the wicks few mm longer then marked so they go slightly below the deck. I like em to have some slack once the ring is back. Put the ring on and tack extra wick inside so there is a slack to it. Make sure to put the ring so holes are covered with wick. If you off set it wicking holes will be partially open. Large dia coil with plenty of cotton will get you to higher wattage with no dry hits. I have zero leaks even without top cap seal. Lost the first one and took all others out. Hope this helps a little.

Definitely not for everybody. Let me know if you wanna sell it.

BKTOAD is right. I also have this problem about leaking juice, too. I solved it. I tried to re-wick the cotton, but at first I put some juice to the cotton then pull it out of the air-holes (4 of them). The leaking is stopped but the worst thing is, the juice flow down to my RX200S. I am worrying if the device is broken down :((.
BKTOAD, do you have any suggestions? I will upload the photos of my RDTA and the device to make you clear to see it. Thanks.
