Conclusions Short-term e-cigarette use was not associated with a lower rate of smoking cessation. Long-term use of e-cigarettes was associated with a higher rate of quitting smoking.

The only reason short term vaping wasn't associated with a lower rate of smoking cessation is because vapers who quit smoking in the short term were not part of the study.

If you are only studying dual users common sense will tell you that these are smokers who will need more time to transition away from smoking.

So It's a good study about common sense - 5150

not associated with a lower rate of smoking cessation = was associated with a higher rate of smoking cessation ?

Odd that they just wave off those who just switch to vaping from smoking.

They do admit that long-term users had "a higher cessation rate (42.4% vs 14.2% and 15.6%, respectively)". 42% instead of mid-teens is HUGE.
