What are your preferences for this setup you seek?
While it's not cheap, it's really tough to beat the Aeolus RDA when it comes to flavor with decent cloud capabilities.

I am planning on getting a Sigelei 150w box. I'd prefer an RDA, as i've heard it produces much more flavor.
Well the smaller the chamber, the more flavor you will get out of it. Right now the more popular RDA's are the Derringer and Freakshow mini. Both can be run at single or dual coil mode and the derringer can be used exclusively for flavor chasing or crazy cloud chasing. The Freakshow is a bottom airflow design that can definitely deliver some great flavor(I hear). I have a Lancia for my flavor chasing and i love it(It's an adjustable bottom airflow RDA with a glass chamber). I am also using the less popular Rouge because it is more leak resistant than the Derringer. It has top airflow and only works as a dual coil atomizer. But i love the way it looks and how it hides the air hole. It is vertically leak proof as long as it is not way over filled.
Good luck with your search. It's half the fun!
I suppose thats true. What would the benefits of me buying a 150w mod vs a 50w mod be?It would depend on your build. You can build it to handle up to 150w. Although, with a warmer vape i would suggest also buying a derlin or pom driptip because the atty will get hot at those watts(well that atty is prone to get warm regardless. You definitely want to look into getting a different DT for sure imho. AND i would suggest you start out in the lower wattage range for a bit, lol. I can chase clouds easily at around 40 watts. What options are you confused about? The Sig is a nice box mod that you can use as you grow into the hobby and start to go up in watts, depending on your building skills and knowledge.
Have you ever used an RDA before?
Found the magma RDA is one serious assault on ur taste buds and believe the clones are as good as a genuine oneWell the smaller the chamber, the more flavor you will get out of it. More room to play with when your felling froggy, lol. But for now a 50w mod would be more than enough for flavor and cloud chasing. One thing to consider is a box mod that takes two batteries will last longer but is a bit more of an investment. It is a good idea to have an extra set of batteries for each setup you own. So a dual bat box mod would require 4 batteries to get started and a charger. And a single battery mod would require 2 batteries to get started. Couple that with the price difference of the mods and decide what you are willing to spend on it. I also like the form factor of a single battery mod when out and about. I just carry an extra charged battery with me and switch it out if i need to.

I'll think i'll just stick to the 150w. More room for upgrading, and since it's only $20-30 more it doesn't make much sense to buy a 50w now just to spend more money on a 150w later. I do really like the derringer with the POM driptip on it. If I were to drip straight through the tip, wouldn't the oil get on the screws and stuff? Or is that not a problem
No. that would not be a problem. The screws will get juice on them anyway through condensation. It's a vaporization chamber after all : D
But people do like to just lift off the chamber to drip as well. Just depends on your personal preference. The thing about doing it that way is you have to make sure your air holes are lined up with the coil every time you take it off. No biggie for some. But i like the convenience of drip and done. No fiddling.
All these different RTA's and RDA's are confusing the hell out of me. There's mixed reviews on all of them. What about those genesis style tanks? How would those work on a Sig 150
Okay so I think i'll plan on doing the Sig 150w with a derringer. But what derringer do I choose or how? There is like 20 different options on FT
My advice?... The cheapest one, lol. The one you linked to will do fine.
That's part of what's so great about these new top vertical airflow attys like the Aeolus I recommended. You can drip a crap load of juice in it and it does not leak.Just remember when you get it not to over drip. If you put to much juice in you will have it leaking out the air holes(this is common on just about ALL rda's) and possibly muted vapor production. You want to only put enough in to saturate the wick. After a bit of practice you will know exactly how many drops to add without needing to look at the coil. This is why some like to take the chamber off to drip. So that they can see exactly how much juice to add to the wick.
Stay away from genesis tanks for now. They require alot of time, patience, and fiddling to work properly. I never suggest a genny as someone's first rebuildable. Yes, they will work on the sig, but IMO its not worth the gray hairs. All these different RTA's and RDA's are confusing the hell out of me. There's mixed reviews on all of them. Here is a good coil building tutorial.

Anyways Nativ, good call on the Sig 150. You'll rarely ever max out its capabilities, which is a good thing. Im very happy with mine and hope it lasts a long time.
As for RDA's, Ive learned some 'real life' lessons about different types. Such as, rdas with external airflow rings tend to always be wet on the outside (dark horse, helios, trident). Also, if your rda has side airflow, make sure its not down on the deck, because it will be leaky if you put in one drop too many (plume veil has its holes right on the deck, while the CLTv2 has the holes a half inch above the deck, huge difference). Also, the higher the holes, the less the leaks, for the most part.
I would suggest something like the CLTv2, since it isnt very leaky, has good airflow options, is well made, and chucks both flavor and clouds. I would not suggest something like a Freakshow, since its a freakin leak machine if not built properly. I also would not suggest a magma (because of restrictive airflow) or a plume veil (because of the 'on the deck' airflow holes), or a dark horse (because its always wet).
Ive used all of these rda's and have really settled in with my CLT. It has none of the problems the others gave me.
I dont think you can go wrong with derringer clone, they are cheap and people seem to like them. Once you find its sweet spot (how much wick to use, how much juice to drop,) it wont leak much, only when you over drip.
Ok, so youve made your decision on an rda. What kind of coil(s) you gonna build?
Personally, I use 24ga kanthal and nichrome80, from 2.5-3mm diameter, and between 7-10 wraps. With 26ga you can go slightly smaller around, from 2-2.5mm.
The bigger the diameter of your wire, but bigger around your coil needs to be. Thicker wire vaporizes more juice, so there needs to be more wet wick inside the coil to keep up with it.
My suggestion, get some 24 and 26ga and see what you like.
Your starting building with an advantage. I started using a mech, where you need to rebuild when a coil doesn't perform well. With the sig , you can simply adjust the wattsI
I'm planning on just getting some 26ga, and i'll play around with the coils and see how I like them.
What's a good voltage to start out at, like 20 or so?Your starting building with an advantage. I started using a mech, where you need to rebuild when a coil doesn't perform well. With the sig , you can simply adjust the watts
Sure. Youll figure it out. I messed with mine for days, getting used the adjustments. What's a good voltage to start out at, like 20 or so?
