So I've been doing diy for a week? Maybe two... I have no sense of time. Anyways back to the point.

Some of you have read this but repeating just so more can help.
I currently have 8 flavors from diy flavor shack but I'm looking to get one of the more popular brands (tfa, cap, ect) and I have no idea what to order... I have vanilla (not custard), coconut, pina colada, strawberry, watermelon, banana, Tigers blood, and some strange fruit mix I haven't touched. I'm a fruit vaper obviously.

What are some recommendations on brands (for example what does tfa specialize in, maybe strength or realistic taste ect), flavors I should look into that would add to my collection, or just starting from scratch on a new flavor brand?

I really want to make something with this vanilla but I feel like I'm lacking what it would be good with... If I had a cream taste I'd make stawberry or banana milk...

I'm just overwhelmed by all the different flavors and recipes to try.

Also if a certain flavor gives a chemically taste would less of it help? Or should I add something to it?

My preference for fruit flavors, hands down, is FlavourArt. With that said, TFA and Inawera also have some good ones, Capella's, too.
Spice flavors, FA, TFA and Nature's Flavors
Creams, Definitely FA.
Desserts, FA, TFA and Cap.
Tobaccos... you'll need to ask someone else, lol.

FW Blueberry & Blackberry
TFA Strawberry Ripe
INW Shisha Strawberry
INW Raspberry
FA Lemon Sicily
FA Pomagranate
FE Lemon
CAP Orange Creamsicle
CAP Peaches & Cream

Mixers
CAP Vanilla Custard v1
CAP NY Cheesecake v1
CAP Cake Batter v1

CAP Bavarian Cream
FW Dulce De Leche(DDL)
TFA Brown Sugar
TFA/CAP Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
TFA French Vanilla Deluxe
TFA Vanilla Swirl

Too many to list, and everybody has their own favorites, this is just an example of some that I like.

Everyone is going to have their own tastes when it comes to flavors. I would agree with Huck that in my opinion when it comes to most fruits Flavour Art wins hands down. Their flavors don't seem to have the "chemically" taste a lot of others do. Having said that though, I have a decent amount of non FA flavors too. Many of the same mixers that Headbob listed above.

The downside of DIY is the money you spend getting started. It's either that though or spending tons more on vendor ejuice. It does take time and patience and plenty of persistence. I tried DIY for a long time and almost gave up. My problem was that I wasn't deliberate about what I was doing. I would try a mix with what I thought might be good and so many times it tasted like dirt. Instead of trying to figure out what went wrong I just tried mixing something different and was all over the place but still ending up with so many not so good mixes. I decided to get very methodical and take tons and tons of notes on what I was doing. I also started tasting/smelling/trying each flavor individually. It takes a lot more effort doing that but I started to make better and better mixes. I started a lot of mixes with lower flavor percentages knowing it's much easier to add a bit more than to subtract.

You'll get there but it's got to be you that experiments. I do understand $$ can be an issue. We'd all like to order a couple hundred dollars worth of flavors. I started small and worked with recipes I'd like and to this day I just keep adding more and more. I reorder flavors I'm almost out of and add a few I'd like to try with every order. Usually about once a week I order about $30 worth ( that's shipping and all). Usually about 7-10 flavors a week. Sometimes less if I'm ordering larger 4oz flavors I know I go through a lot. That price seems to be close to what one 30ml of vendor juice seems to go for and with what you can make with it you're way ahead. I am lucky that I can get my VG and PG locally for pretty decent price so that helps since shipping price always adds up fast if you're ordering that.

I guess what I'm trying to say is experiment experiment experiment even if it is slow and steady. Whenever I look at a flavor I'd like to try I try and look up as many reviews as I can on what other people are saying. Keep in mind though everyone has different tastebuds. I've ordered flavors people have raved about and didn't like them. But with most flavors being under $3 if you start with a small bottle that's a fairly inexpensive lesson. And when you stumble on those WOW wonderful amazing flavors it makes it all worth it.

I stumbled over those codes when browsing the DIY threads. So, I wrote them down. I also re-posted them several times already. Even though it might be just a few pennies that you can save, it's still some money saved. Like a German saying goes, "Even small animals make manure".

Take a look over on e-liquid-recipes.com and look for some recipes that interest you and go from there. Some that I couldn't live without are: ripe strawberry, bavarian cream, and fresh cream by TFA.
