So, I'm in the market for a new mod, and I decided I'd like a mech mod for my next one. I've done my research on them, however I'm currently interested in the SMPL mod, it has the looks I want, and the price range. My only concern is that it has a hybrid connection. I know the pin on the atomizer / dripper has to protrude. I plan on buying a dripper for it as well. I was wondering how far must the pin protrude? My only RTAs at the moment are my kayfun v4 and my lemo 2. Is the lemo 2s pin protruding enough for a hybrid connection, or must it be more?

I had to modify the pin on the base of this Arctic to protrude about 2mm to work safely with the hybid top cap on my XXIX mech..

As long as you make sure you use a Atty wih a protruding pin on the SMPL you will be OK..

Just my opinion but I would NEVER use a tank on a hybrid. I've had one too many bad experiences as have many others. Hybrids are not meant for tanks. You are running with scissors. Pins can push back in and then you short badly. Stick with a dripper on a hybrid. The wporst scenario is that is does not fire and you adjust the atty.

I would certainly say as a general rule, you are right as far as Subtank type tanks go. The tanks like a Billow or Orchids (rdta's) are ok since the deck and base is an rda with a tank sitting on top of it.

The pin on my Kayfun4 sticks out plenty. Looks a bit like an Atlas Missile or an ICBM on the SMPL

Thank you all for the input. :) I may still get it down the line, but I ordered a Manhattan clone instead until I start trying drippers.

Hybrids are meant for protruding pins, period. I know of several RDA's that have a flat pin such as the Stillare that should not be used on a hybrid...
Again, this is like a gun, only as safe as the man using it...but if one can't tell what a protruding pin is on a tank or RDA he maybe shouldn't be vaping at all, before he does something stupid resulting in he gets hurt, or hurts others around him....so yeah, if you don't know what you're doing leave the hybrids alone altogether...

http://localvape.com/collections/sale LocalVape is running a crazy sale now that you could pick up a mech with topcap for $20-30 that used to sell for 180-220.

I picked up a Sudekick by Calmodz. I hate to screw/unscrew to adjust for battery rattle.

Thanks for that link. I always wanted the Vapewell Gmod to go with my Vapewell atty, but didn't want to pay the 180 bucks for one. They were on sale here for 39 + 6 bucks shipping for the Authentic... boom
