Looking for the best/smallest single 18650 mod

Hi fellow vapers!

So I just started vaping about 3 months ago and I purchased the Smok Stick Plus Kit. I enjoy the kit and it has been good to me but I am looking for something more now. I love how small my vape pen is so I want a small mod that can hold a single 18650. I will be vaping around 40-50w and I dont know anything about temperature control I think I will only be using it in wattage. Anyways I have been looking at the istick pico, aspire nx75, and evic vtc mini. I am wondering if one of these would be the best choice or if someone knows of something that would be even better? Also, should I get them as a kit or would another tank suit them better? I was looking at the super tank mini and tanks of that sort but I am not sure. And last which batteries would be best for it? The main thing is something that is nice, sturdy, and small that I can keep in my pocket without being weighed down.

Thanks for any insight or advice you can offer me! I really appreciate it :D

The Pico is definitely one of the smaller ones.
All three that you're looking at are indeed small.
Pioneer4YouIPVD3 is a small SINGLE 18650
Heatvape Defender II (that's max at 50 watts)
IPV Mini 2
KBOX Mini
Just one question, why SINGLE 18650?

Smok Alien is a dual 18650 and very small.
Pioneer4You IPV6X is a dual 18650 and very small.
Sigelei Fuchai 213 is a dual 18650 and very small
If you're ONLY using power mode, it has safety issues in TC mode.

Batteries:
Samsung 25R
Samsung 30Q
LG HE2
LG HE4

well I go to a lot of clubs, concerts, and festivals. my current device of course dies after a few hours but its easy to keep in my pocket when i'm walking around or dancing so I was assuming a single 18650 would be best to carry around in my pocket and then I could just bring some extra batteries as opposed to a bulkier dual 18650, unless those would last longer?

a dual 18650 will last twice a long take a look at some sigeleis there are dual 18650s out there that arent very big and bulky at all. also be careful carrying 18650s in your pocket they can short out and catch fire if the wrapper is dammaged i suggest getting some battery cases if you are going to be carrying cells around

eLeaf iStick Pico Mega. Almost as small as the regular Pico but can use a 26650 battery or an 18650, I have one and really like it. I haven't tried it with the 26650 battery yet, but I imagine the battery life would be amazing for such a small mod.

I can usually get through a whole day at work on the 18650 without any problems.

I have an eLeaf Pico and have used it for a few months. It is my first mod, and I have really enjoyed it. I was like the OP, and upgrading from an eGo One. The pico puts out a lot more vapor and is easy to use.

IMG_6875.JPG These are my three favorite single 18650 mods. Left to right -

IPV D2 - this is my oldest and most durable mod. It can take a beating, works great and seems to get the best battery life out of the three. It only does TC in Ni and Ti. The tank is a vengeance mini (came with my mini volt kit) it's not the best but works well enough. Max wattage 70w.

Evic VTC Mini - Of the three this one is the best. It has all the bells and whistles (SS TC, TCR and even pre-heat). It's been pretty much flawless and for the price it's hard to beat. The tank is a Herakles plus. Max wattage 75w.

Snow Wolf Mini - This is my favorite. It's kinda big and heavy but very well made. Out of the three it's last in terms of function but first in terms of build quality. Like the D2, it only does TC in Ni and Ti but that's not a concern to you. The tank is a serpent mini RTA. Max wattage 75w.

I would recommend the Evic VTC mini. Although you don't use TC, you might one day so it's nice to have option. Joyetech is always updating their software so your mod will always stay current.

One thing to keep in mind with the Pico is it will only accept 23mm or smaller tanks. I bought one hoping to use the Crown 1 tank which is 22mm, but the AFC ring is 24mm and hits the battery cap.

Pico with melo 3 tank great combination. Evic vtc mini but kinda of a battery hog. As eveyone says single 18650 70 - 80 watt mod batt life not so good. Newer to the market sigelei j80 80 watts 2000mah li-po. Friend let me borrow for about week. If you like looks of something like smok alien check it out. And its tiny small ass mod.

I was thinking of getting the Pico with a super tank mini...would that be a good setup? I would be vaping at about 40-50w maybe a little higher for a session or two but nothing crazy...would the battery life be pretty good?

Both the Evic Mini and the Pico are solid. The Pico would be the smaller of the two but 23mm is the max diameter. With either battery charge life will depend on how hard you push it. They are single 18650 devices. I tend to run either a Merlin or KFV5 on the Mini and usually a Serpent Mini on the Pico.

Yea if your not beating the blank out of it. If your vaping habits change so is that battery life. I would get super tank mini it uses same coils as some other tanks out there. Like the playboy mini tank gets no love but it performs very well. Pico is a decent mod I seen in other post about issue with certain tank would look into it. Cause I dont know it could be a deal breaker. I know its not flashy but the og old school evic vtc mini is proven. Both mods will not break the bank get one of them. Save your money up cause you mite wake up one morning have a cup of coffee and say I need more watts. That was a joke good luck and keep vaping.

I don't use my single 18650's at more than 40w, usually stay between 20-30w. I find that at 40 and above the batteries don't last very long.

The eleaf ipower 80w has an internal 5000mah battery and is nice and small. Actually love this for my ADV now. Has a smart mode, TCR, Bypass mode, wattage, and TC so not to shabby for 28 bucks.

I held the smok alien at my local vape shop and surprisingly it's pretty small :D how long would this last with the dual 18650 on average if im only vaping at around 45watts?

Definitely the Pico is the best/smallest single 18650 out there. There are better performers, but I don't think anything smaller in an 18650 format. At 30W, I can carry the Pico/Melo Mini combo with a unicorn bottle and be good for about 8 hours on a single battery. With a second battery in a silicone sleeve? All day, easy. I like the Topbox MIni as a kit better, and it performs better in TC, but it's quite a bit larger.

I can't speak to the Alien, but my RX200 2/3 (two batt mode), VT133 and KBox 160 will easily take me through 24 hours (all used in TC).

Did you ask what kind of battery life they got on it? 45 watts only guessing dont know all the facts. Your vaping style, tank, ohms of coil, batteries but you should be fine. Looked earlier on ecig.com for alien pre-order all colors 56.95. Black only in stock 65.00 with tfv8 baby beast. Haven't looked anywhere else usually do almost all my buying only from them. Have a friend has one and talked to others I mite pick one up myself.

hmm interesting so how long would it last at 40w then?

It's just a guesstimate but I would say 4-6 hours depending on how I vape? If I take a single 18650 out as my only mod for the day, I'll bring 3 batteries. Two is usually fine but I always bring a back.

If you are going to take One 18650 why not get a Lipo device? will vape longer and be the same size or smaller .a 900mah should give more runtime than a single 18650. you could even look at a DNA 40 device. Not very expensive anymore.

I love my Kanger NeBox- No worries with a tank that can broken, Mine does not leak, but leave on its side when at home, but still does not leak ever in my purse when out for the day, the coil is in there good and tight! Might be a tad big for a pocket?
There is also the Kanger Cupti and the Joyetech Evic AIO 75w (you can use a tank with adapter) both look small and take an 18650 battery!
Please keep your spare 18650 batteries in a plastic case, I always have charged batteries in my case with me!
I do not own the Kanger Cupti or the Joyetech Evic AIO 75w- but may in the future!
I had the Joyetech EGrip OLED, but that only lasted about 4 months for me, not sure if juice got into the panel, but that has an internal battery, but that is very tiny and mine leaked.

P.S. I do own and love the Pico also- but when I am on the go I use my Nebox so I don't worry about tank glass breaking!

This is incorrect... MAH is MAH no matter the form factor. MAH is the amount of storage capacity the battery has no matter the form. Where some LiPo's can help... many will have a higher C rating allowing a higher amperage output and of the course since they aren't only a round cylinder like in a 18650, their shape can be made to take up whatever space is more efficient, typically a box shape like a lot of the mods are using.

LiPo's are great options and do have advantages... but a 900mah lipo isn't going to last longer than say a 2100mah 18650.

Agreeded. My ADV is a Vaporshark DNA200 and while the battery life isn't the greatest, it's better than a single 18650 and has zip charging.

As for the Smok Alien, I watched DJLSB's review of it last night and according to him it gets exceptional battery life and does balance charging at 1amp. I don't remember the exact number but he said the Alien will drain batteries below 3v.

Truth. A 900mAh battery would last me a couple of hours, maybe.

The eVic AIO is a very nice device. Just don't use the notch or clapton coils as they spit something fierce. It's about the size of a Pico, just a bit wider, I think (don't have it here to compare), and definitely heavier.

I came so close to getting one but that battery door keeps stopping me. If they come down to the regular VT75 price I'll get one.

yeah the reviews on that battery door kill it.. and they are true.. it sucks! Worse I've ever seen.. too bad they didn't do like the innokin 18650 - great battery cover on that one.

I just charge it via the port tho. If you do get one.. hit the battery cover with some lube before you put it on.. then just charge via the port:giggle:
Price wise I have seen them in the 60 ish range so far.. I got one off RatRacer for 55. Really like the size and feel of it.

The VT75 Nano door is no worse than the VT75. It's no better either, but no worse. Well, smaller, yes, so more finicky to bigger fingers, but not really worse. I WOULD, however, use it more if the door was better. It's a shame because otherwise it's an amazing mod.

I think I'm down to either the pico, nx75, or smok alien. I go to a lot of music festivals and concerts so I want something that will fit nice in the pocket and not weigh me down while I'm dancing and walking around but also need good battery life to last the duration of the event. would the alien be better with the 2 batteries or the smaller mods and bring extra batteries like maybe 2? thanks everyone for their input it's helping so much :D

Agreed. I put a 30Q in there and just charge it in the mod. No problem and get good battery life. Much smaller than the VT 75. In my opinion it is what the VT 75 should have been to begin with. With current battery technologies I don't see any advantage to the 26650. The only advantage of the VT 75 is it will fit larger 25 mm attys that would overhang on the nano.

Um, if you're going to be romping around at festivals, yeah, I think I'd definitely go with the Pico for the price point. You could get two or three for the price of one Alien. That way, if you lose it, it won't hurt as much.

okay that makes more sense especially if I break it or what not. is the melo tank it comes with good enough or would the 4ml version be better? was also looking at the super mini tank. ideally I want to vape at 40 watts in hopes of decent vapor production but also not draining my battery too quickly. thanks so much for the help! :D

That melo 3 is a great tank but I would go with the larger one. In fact it is one of the best tanks out there.

I like the Melo3 tank also, but you would need to carry spare juice as that tank can be vaped away very quickly! I just purchased the Aspire EVO Extended Tank Kit, It comes with 2ml and 4 ml glass to switch out for tank size, versatility! These tanks are under $20.00. I also bought this because like the Melo3 it will use my Aspire Atlantis coils. I like having 1 type of coil to run many tanks. There is a coil thread here that tells you all the tanks that use the Aspire Atlantis coils. I haven't tried the EVO tank yet but I am sure it will be great!

You are so right! Back ups and spares! I don't know why people do not have spares? The prices of devices have come down so much and buying online is so much cheaper, usually cheaper than 2 packs of cigarettes( I am in NY)! If I am buying a Mod, I try to get 2 or more, because with the looming FDA and States legislations and mod breakage I want to make sure I can continue vaping in the future.
While local B&Ms may be convenient- they are about double to triple the price as online retailers. All the online retailers I use are quick shippers too! Just make sure they are using USPS and I only use US vendors! A couple weeks ago I won a contest from Gear Best(shipped from China) and I got hit with a $20.00 FDA fee thru Fed EX- ouch!

I don't think you'll be able to find anyone who will say they hate it. RDA/RTA users may not like it very much. But, as a tank, in terms of performance, it's right up there with the Cleito, Toptank, Toruk, and TFV series. In fact, it's my second favorite tank, tied with the Cleito, after the Toptank.

The only drawback to the Melo III Mini is its size, but that's also a plus IMO. It makes the Pico an amazing stealth device that packs as much punch as the largest of the 75W mods. But if the small size is a drawback, think about carrying a 30ml unicorn bottle. I can easily get three refills out of a single battery at 30W, and a unicorn bottle is a lot cheaper than a bigger tank.

As long as you can keep from losing or breaking them, a single Pico, a 30ml unicorn, and an extra battery in a silicon sleeve should be able to last you 16-24 hours of moderately hard vaping.

Another plug for the istick pico mega, with the optional 26650 battery I'm guessing all day with no problems. I run Clietos or SMOK baby beast on it. Fits right in my front pocket

I have the Pico. It's great for a pocket device that packs a punch..... I am currently looking to buy the Evic vtc 2 Dual.. Check that one out.. for not much more $ you can have the best of both worlds.. single 18650 for a small device and you can add the adapter battery door to make it a dual 18650 if you want.. that's what I might be getting. Seen it for $50 just the mod not the kit w/ tank.
