Welcome to VU and I hope you make the switch! Most of us end up liking vaping more than we ever liked smoking.....E-liquid comes with nicotine already in it or you can get it without nicotine, the choice is yours. Most of us start with nicotine in it and end up nicotine free or close to it as time goes on and depending on what type of tank we use.
A Nautilus Mini along with an Eleaf Istick is great beginners set up. They are fairly inexpensive and you get a lot of gear for your buck. The nice thing about the Istick series of mods is that the battery is charged by the same type USB wall charger as your cell phone so you don't have to worry about purchasing batteries and a charger separately. For a Nautilus Mini to start with as your first tank I would recommend the 30 watt version. There are several versions of the Istick and their model number is the amount of power they put out, they come in a 10 watt mini (which really isn't enough for a nautilus tank,) a 20 watt, a 30 watt, and a 50 watt. The reason they come in so many versions is different tanks require different amounts of wattage to power them. The 30 is a good start because the Nautilus tanks really only can be used in the 10-17 power watt range and I say get the 30 watt because it has a bigger battery than it's little siblings and if you want to upgrade to something like the Atlantis tank later you still have the option to set it to the higher power setting to power the coils that tank uses.
The E-liquid comes in many different strengths from 0 nic up to 36mg. The strength of the liquid is based on the amount of mg of nicotine per milaliter of E-liquid. Given that you are a fairly light smoker from the sounds of it I would suggest that you start with a 6mg strong liquid or maybe 12 at the absolute highest. However, this is just a recommendation. What I would do is go to a vape shop if you have one locally and try a couple flavors than by a small bottle of one you like in 3mg strength and one in 6mg. It takes your body longer to absorb nicotine from vaping than it does from regular cigarettes so you can vape on too strong of liquid for a few puffs and feel nothing than take one more and all the nic catches up and you can catch a nic buzz or even feel sick from too much nicotine too fast. After you've vaped a tank of each one you'll pretty much know which one is right or even if you need the next level stronger. Then go back to the shop and buy a bigger bottle of what suits your needs best. Most vape shops have a bunch of sample tanks to test different flavors out so you know what you're buying...and don't worry, they use disposable mouthpiece sleeves on the tank so you're not sharing germs with anyone
I encourage you to read up around here and look at different types of mods (the power unit of the vaping device) and tanks to make sure but an Eleaf Istick and a Nautilus mini is a solid starting point for anyone interested in vaping. I would recommend buying an extra pack of Nautilus BVC coils and spending the few extra bucks on the optional metal tank or the metal/glass version as well as the glass tank it has is somewhat fragile and most of us that use a Nautilus have broken the glass at least one
That is my recommendation for you, I can't tell you what to buy because everyone is different, but I think you'll like it if you do. Most of us that started with eGo vape pen types quickly upgraded, this way you're skipping that step and saving a couple bucks in the long run.
