I have only vaped with tanks so far and looking to get a basic dripper to see how I like it, so what would be some cheap suggestions to start with? Thank you!

What do you wish to get from an RDA that you aren't getting in your tank?
Do you want more flavor, or clouds?
And are you looking to strictly buy authentic? Clones? The RDA market is pretty flooded with options nowadays imo... Let's narrow the search a little bit!

Oh and do you have any experience building coils? Maybe RTAs?

Hey guys, and if no one has welcomed you to Vaping Underground then allow me to do so now :)

So...y'all wanna be drippin' and blowing the "mad cloudz broz"? ;)

@DaCubs14 .....This response if for you...I've seen your other posts and you're asking good questions that you need to ask as any beginner would that wants to learn more and dive deeper into vaping. Although if you want to move past your basic gear of your CF battery and Subtank into real RDA's and dripping...especially if you want to do it purely for cloud chasing ( I am sorry but your posts fit into a catigory that's kind of developed over the last couple months...if I am wrong I apologize but I am going to continue on the asumption that I am right, because whether I am or not is is irrelevant, you need to know what I am about to write if you want to go further down the yellow brick vaping road safely.) there are several key things you need to know before you even start thinking about rebuilding and RDA's if you want to do it safely and prevent harm coming to you or others around you.

First off, your current battery has an amp limit on it, I can't remember what it is off the top of my head so let me check real quick...awe yes, it says it has a maximum current output of 40 amps...but it does not say if that is its continuous drain rating on the battery it uses or just it's burst rating so I would stay with a build at or below 30 amps to be safe. Secondly, the chiptset that protects the battery doesn't do a good job of regulating voltage so that battery fires and drains like a battery would in a mech mod....but with the added annoying 10 second cut off time limiting how long of drag you can take...but with the added safety features of over/undercharge protection and short circuit protection that would be standard with most common high wattage box mods.

But...because the battery's chipset doesn't regulated well you're going to have a huge voltage drop more than likely with it if you try and build sub ohm drippers on it and with the 10 second cut off you're going to have to use certain gauge wires at certain builds to even give the coils time to heat up properly that first vape so you're second and third are really good...ten seconds is more than enough for most builds but when you're learning it takes some time to find the right one and you get some builds with long ramp up time in the process.

Anyways, bottom line is you're going to need to learn battery safety basics, ohm's law basics, buy a ohm's reader/checker BEFORE you buy any RDA/RTA NOT AFTER, and possibly upgrade your mod in the future when you're battery just doesn't perform in a way that satisfies you anymore. Below I am posting several links...they contain the answer to not just your questions but the whole some of basic vaping knowledge every beginner looking intro RDA's needs to know...these threads were created by myself and others and have become the standard reference we refer new vapors too so we can still answer questions while keeping a personal response personal like this without spending all night typing...you don't have to sit down and read it all at once...it's a lot to take in at first but most of it is common sense and the knowledge will sink in rather quickly as you get more hands on and start to apply. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have as I always say there is no stupid question, just a stupid reason for not asking it...I just ask you take the time to study the links I am giving you and learn so you can become a more informed shopper, and when you're ready to start building you have the basic foundation of ohm's law and the batteries you're using to power these coils and take every possible safety precaution to vape both as fun and as safely as possible. Best of luck shopping to you and happy vaping! :)

My apologies, I should have added that I now have a subox mod and cool fire 4. So I got a little more power then the CF battery.

Are you looking for clouds or flavor? And what are you looking to spend?

If your looking for easy to build on, easy to work with and a good flavor atty, beyond vape has the mako. which for 30$ is a nice atty. Another good one would be the REM atty at vapor DNA. If you wanna spend a little more with options down the road, the tugboat v2 has been my every day go to for about a year now. My freedom smokes usually has them for 70-75$. you can get caps from flawless that make it a whole new atty on the same deck. The anarchist turns it not a cloud atty and thru slam cap drops the chamber giving it more flavor and more airflow.
All three are similar in that they are side airflow 3 post drippers, they are also easy to work with,

Now can I use the cotton bacon that I have on this? Or do I have to get something else?

Yeah, cotton bacon is just anther wicking material. these are rebuildable, do you'll be building your own coils and can use whatever you prefer as a wicking material.

Have you rebuilt before?

Ok, well, like @madmonkey said, you'll still wanna learn ohmslaw, and your cooldire will have an ohm meter,
I would say start with 28g Kantian and a 2-2.5mm inside diameter coil. The kuro cooler or coil master jigs would really be a cool tool for you pick up also.

It makes building a coil easy... similar to the kuro

Gotcha, I had bought a little kit with recoiling tools so wanted to make sure it wasn't the same thing.

50 watts is a good starting point for beginning...truthfully most people don't like to vape super high wattages in my experience of reading and video watching and real life experience....you get to a point in wattage where you're just frying your juice and without the right airflow and a very special build to go with it you're just frying out the flavor in favor of chasing clouds. :)

I love cotton bacon, for the price you can't beat it...when I got my first little bag i was skeptical, but it lasted me months and it's so much easier to use than organic cotton balls or even Go ken Do, I've used just about every kind of organic cotton plus silica plus eko wool plus Ready X Wick plus ceramic wicks plus stainless mech and the Bacon is my favorite to work with for my Kayfuns and my drippers....it's just the easiest to custom fit for any coil, especially if you're still getting the hang of wicking...it helps you feel it out so much easier :)

Just study up the technical stuff I recommended, I know that no one wants to do homework on anything, but it will make your vaping experience much easier and safer. Once again...best of luck and happy vaping to yah! :)
