Yale researchers — led by Krysten Bold, postdoctoral fellow, and Suchitra Krishnan-Sarin, professor of psychiatry — went back six months later to track who was still using e-cigarettes. Youths who had said they were initially attracted to e-cigarettes because of the low cost of e-cigarettes or because they wanted to quit smoking combustible cigarettes were more likely to have continued vaping.

In fact, those who reported trying e-cigarettes to quit smoking were 14 times more likely to continue vaping.

Increasing the cost of e-cigarettes might be one policy that could be used to reduce vaping in this age group,” Bold said.

“E-cigarette use is a major public health issue, and understanding use among youth is critical to inform youth-directed prevention efforts,” said Krishnan-Sarin.

What the fuck???
I thought the goal was to help smoking teens QUIT SMOKING?
I guess they decided to move the fucking goalpost again - 5150

http://www.cbc.ca/news/health/vaping-e-cigarettes-teens-pediatrics-1.3711547

In June, Canadian researchers who studied 230 students in Grade 9in Ontario who use e-cigarettes also found that 75 per cent did not use them for their intended use: to help kick nicotine addiction.

NO! Their intended to is to help kick SMOKING TOBACCO CIGARETTES
Don't let these fuckers move the goalpost on you.

Then we have this part:

Youngsters who tried vaping to quit smoking were more likely to keep using e-cigarettes months later, the study found. Only about 6 per cent of those surveyed tried e-cigarettes for that purpose, but about
80 per cent of this group stuck with the devices.

But here we have the same study with a different claim about the same group of teens:

http://news.yale.edu/2016/08/08/low...ng-spur-prolonged-e-cigarette-use-among-youth

However, the long-term benefits of using e-cigarettes to quit cigarette smoking among youth are unclear, the study found, since 80% of youth who said they first tried vaping to help quit smoking were still smoking cigarettes six months later.

SO, DID "80 per cent of this group stick with the devices" OR DID "80% of youth who said they first tried vaping to help quit smoking were still smoking cigarettes six months later."

These 80% are now vaping or still smoking.

They can't have it both ways so why are they fucking lying to us about it??? - 5150

“E-cigarette use is a major public health issue, and understanding use among youth is critical to inform youth-directed prevention efforts,” said psychiatry professor Suchitra Krishnan-Sarin, who, with Yale postdoctoral fellow Krysten Bold, analyzed data from the National Youth Tobacco Survey.

Wait a fucking minute... Jonathan M. Samet... Suchitra Krishnan-Sarin... Shit is all starting to add up now!

https://rodutobaccotruth.blogspot.com/2015/03/conflicts-of-interest-exposed-fda.html

Today, Mitch Zeller, director of the FDA Center for Tobacco Products, announced (here) that, “As a result of the expanded [conflict of interest] criteria outlined in Judge Leon’s ruling, each voting TPSAC member was rescreened and four members – Chairman Jonathan Samet, Claudia Barone, Joanna Cohen, and Suchitra Krishnan-Sarin – have resigned or their terms on TPSAC have been terminated.”

Judge Leon ruled that Samet was conflicted because he “received grant support from [pharma giant] GlaxoSmithKline at least six times, including in 2010. He also led the Institute for Global Tobacco Control, funded by GSK and Pfizer. Dr. Samet also testified for lawyers suing tobacco-product manufacturers…he was designated to testify in two pending tobacco cases.”

I have reported that Dr. Samet and Krishnan-Sarin also had conflicts due to their having received substantial grants from the anti-tobacco NIH ($8 million in 2014 for Dr. Samet, $5.8 million for Krishnan-Sarin)

So these fuckers help write the deeming regs then lost their jobs for extreme conflicts of interest so they come back with anti vaping propaganda in order to fuck us back for helping getting them fired.

I would not believe anything out of the mouths of two people who have these types of Big Pharma ties. - 5150
