Lychee (FA)

So been at DIY for about 2-3 weeks now and LOVING it. I have many flavors and enjoy coming up with new concotions...

Just got some flavors in the mail from eliquidmart. I use them all the time for my FA and CAP flavors. This time it was almost all fruits...

Most of them are all amazing, as always. However, the lychee is VERY FLORAL / PERFUMEY. I wonder if I got a bad batch (hoping), as my girlfriend said it tasted nothing like the real fruit. Ive never had a real Lychee, myself.

Does anyone use the lychee and if so, is it really floral (think flower perfume) or is it fruity like just about every other fruit flavor they have?

The white grape I orderes also has a similar smell but Im scared to vape it after tasting the Lychee now...

I don't have it, but FA Flavors tend to be floral if you use too much flavoring. What percentage have you used/have you tried lowering the percentage?

Even the smell alone is that of perfume. I did 5% in my 10mL batch...

I have just about every other fruit flavor from FA. Never even came close to anything like this....

Maybe try it at 1% and 2%. I don't have lychee, but I know blackberry would be pretty disgusting at 5% and is very good at .5%

Real lychee is like a grape in texture, a bit slimier think skinned grape with a thorny shell.
Tastes like a more tartish grape.. kind of lychee is very floral in taste.
Bart if you have an Asian super market with a produce section go take an adventure in and pick up a bag... they are damned tasty. Been debating being BOLD and getting a duran.

Lychee is unfortunately a flavor that I have not found an adequate reproduction for of the actual fruit. IMPO at least, FA's is one of the better ones but still far from true flavor.

Start @ 1% with it, I mix it @ 1.5% but it's definitely not a sweet flavor, a little floral but very useable if done correctly.

Been debating being BOLD and getting a duran.

Beware the durian! If you try it, plug your nose. The flavor is sweet, creamy, delicious - reminds me of pudding. But the smell is OMG horrifying if you didn't grow up with it. Any fruit that is banned in public in some Asian countries, due to the smell.... And it STICKS in your mouth and nose forever.

A little more relevant to the thread, FA Lychee definitely matches fresh lychee flavor best when used at 2%-ish or lower. 5% is toooo much!

They're sending me a Capella replacement free of charge, since I order so much from them. I thought that was pretty cool of them to do, since they have a no refunds or returns policy...

How did the FA Lychee turn out for you at lower percentages?

Did not care for it - it was just too perfume-like for me, at 1% or 5%. Even the Capella was gross.

I have TFA's Lychee and I have yet to mix something good with it, though I haven't really played around with it as the smell makes me want to put it back in the rack for another time. This flavor will take more research and hardcore pondering to get right.

I vaped a leechy from Crafted Vapor that is a lychee & mango and its super good. Maybe try add a mango or mellon to it?

Could try that. Just wasnt crazy about the floral notes in the lychee. Far too perfumey for me...

Wish I knew what they use, it's super good. The mango is dominant but the leechy is there and not floral.
