June 2018 saw an exceptionally strong period of growth in the industry, with spending across hardware, software and accessory sales up 25 percent from 2017.
According to June 2018's NPD report, Mario Tennis Aces for the Switch was the best selling game of June, and God of War for the PS4 continues to sell strong in second place, making it the tenth best selling game of the last twelve months.
The PS4 continues to sell incredibly well, as it was the best-selling console platform in June, and remains the best-selling console this year. But it's good news for the other platforms as well, with Xbox One hardware sales earning nearly twice as much money in June 2018 when compared to the same month last year, and with Switch sales up by over 50 percent from last year.
