Who hates building vertical coils on the Marquis? This fuckin guy right here. I was looking for a good flavor atty and wanted something cool. Heard Vertias's were a bitch to build on, so Marquis it was. Fuck the Marquis. Annoying as hell. To top it off the clone I got doesnt have the washer around the center screw as well as the center post spins like a top. Anyone have any tips?

On my clone, it came with the wrong screw installed in the crown but it was included in the extras baggie. My only complaint is that the coiling tools are larger than I typically use. I use a "Gizmo" with 1.56 2.0 (I made out of music wire) and 2.4 (made out of a coat hanger) mandrels.

I usually build at 2mm to 2.5mm on a custom jig but I still use the Marquis rods when fitting the coils. The coil doesn't have to be perfectly snug for it to work. I wrap two opposite coils. Also I do not trap the wire on the crown, but I instead use it to hold the first lead in place while I set the second coil. Then I wrap both positive leads around the screw and pull tight before driving it home. Very happy with this setup.

I had to use 28ga to beable to fit both wires under the screw. I dont mind bigger coils. Ive actually been building bigger lately but when I take the build post out they go crooked

The screw in mine had a funnel shape above the thread and below the flat "washer" portion of the head. I could not trap anything less than 26g or twisted 30g. Instead of modifying the screw I used a drill bit to chamfer the hole. Now I can trap 34g if I wanted.

If you're having trouble fitting larger wire under the screw, take the screw out first. Use the crown tabs to hold the coil in place after tightening the negatives. Then replace the screw and pull the wires around and tighten it down. I assure you that I could easily fit 18g wire under that honker no problem.

The problem is I don't have the washer screw. My extra one is a regular screw as well. Trip to Home Depot I guess

 Who made your clone? I have a Tobeco, and the only problem I have is that I need to sand the inside of the topcap so I don't shred my o-rings.
