Spoilers ahead for Marvel's Eternals.

Fans of Kit Harington and his Marvel character Dane Whitman may have been disappointed to learn Dane had a fairly small role in the Eternals movie. But as it turns out, there was a lengthy scene featuring Dane and Lia McHugh's Sprite that never made it into the theatrical cut.

With Eternals landing on Digital January 12 and 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD on February 15, IGN can exclusively debut a deleted scene that will be included with those releases. Check out the video player above or the embed below to see "Small Talk."

This scene is set early in the film, before the London earthquake and before Dane has become fully aware of Sprite and Sersi's true nature. Here we see him trying to reassure Sprite about his plans to move in with Sersi, not realizing she's being completely truthful with her outlandish claims about Deviants and immortal warriors.

This scene also sheds further light on one of the more interesting elements of the Eternals franchise - the idea that these ageless heroes have inspired many of humanity's mythological figures and legends over the centuries. Here Sprite reflects on Thena inspiring the Greek goddess Athena, even if Athena's statue only bears a passing resemblance to Angelina Jolie.

IGN gave Eternals a 7 when it hit theaters in November 2021. Reviewer Amelia Emberwing said, "Eternals is huge. Centuries worth of stories and a whole team of vastly different heroes are condensed into a visually stunning and impeccably acted film. The relationships of these complicated characters keep things as fresh as they can, but the story gets unwieldy when it shifts into a cosmic scale."

Eternals currently stands as the lowest-rated MCU movie on Rotten Tomatoes, but it seems Marvel Studios still has plans for the characters. Salma Hayek confirmed she's signed on for multiple MCU projects, despite her character Ajak dying early in the film.

We also have some idea of what the future holds for Harington's Dane Whitman, including a potential appearance in the upcoming Blade reboot.
