sounds like you have a short and your batteries not going to last very long if it superheats over and over again...I would check to make sure the center pin of the atty is sticking out past the base of the connection...if it's sitting flush or recessed it will cause a short when directly touching the battery causing that very problem...I would also check the screws of your coil to make sure they are tight and would meter your coil to make sure it doesn't have a drastic change in resistance and isn't jumping all over the place or if one of the leads has popped....depending on how hot and how many times you've heated up your battery i would consider replacing as you could have considerably increased it's internal resistance shortening it's lifespan and ability to preform considerably if not completely.

Possible short in the switch is my best guess.

Little peices of Kanthal can find their way in to the damndest of places!

This has happened to me too. The tiniest piece of kanthal worked its way right over the insulator for the positive post. I didn't see it until i yanked the coils out. It's just a matter of finding the offender haha. If your 510 is sitting right, and the post screws are tight and you have no battery rattle, start searching your deck. The answer is there somewhere, just be careful

Agreed. Just take it all apart and try to get to the bottom of it

the 510 connector screw is loose as hell, i just took all my coils apart and searched the deck of the RDA for any loose pieces of kanthal but nothing to be found.

Agreed. I pin that is too loose can be just as dangerous with a hybrid connection as a pin that is not sticking out far enough. It can help cause your positive post to loosen on your deck as well complicating matters worse. I would take everything apart and check all the insulators as well....a scorched or worn threw/torn insulator that got too hot and gave in is the biggest silent atty and battery killer of them all.

Buy a regulated device, just to be safe
BIGBOYVAPER

hey now, I agree that regulated is the way to go now a days for new vapors wanting to get into dripping but even just buying a mech mod with a regular top cap and center pin can make things much easier and safer if a mech is the route he wants to go. Every time I have used a hybrid connection it was more of a pain in the ass it felt like than it was worth for .1 less voltage drop on average....each to their own I reckon :)

Sorry if you missunderstood me...I wasn't trying to argue or disagree with you...if it came off that way I am sorry. I was just quoting my opinion on hybrids more than anything...I was hoping for a bit of discussion and I am sorry if it came off that way. Honest, I meant no harm and I am sorry.
