Mechanical Box Mods

I am searching for a single battery mech box mod, but they are really hard to find. I found maybe a 2 or 3 of these available. Does anyone have/use one?

Any advantages/disadvantages over a tube mech?

Any recommendations for a mod/vendor?

Edit: Looking for full mechanical, not unregulated. Also preferably not a hybrid connection.

Squonkers are easy: most are single-celled organisms.

More common, I believe, to see Dual cell mechanical (nonsquonk) - like Noisy Cricket I or II and a variety of others.

I'm sure 3fvape and fasttech still have them - I'd run screaming from single-cells, myself.

Yeah, they seem to be rare...not sure why. That's why I'm interested in one now. Is there any reason why they're rare? Do ppl not like them for some reason?

I have also noticed that they're almost all squonkers, but that's just not my thing. I have a couple of tubes but would prefer a box mod.

I did find like 3 or 4 that look OK but no reviews, so who knows....either way, I'm probably going to pick one and try it out, but I was looking for anyone that maybe has one?

Well, most single-cell mechs seem to be those miserable tube-mods. I went down that path a few years ago: i never liked the anemic vape I was getting, or heating switches, or cheapass springs, etc. And, of course, absolutely every mod had to have different threading, so you couldn't even save parts to franken-mech.

I know Mike Vapes, Vic, and Bogan have reviewed some mechs - tube mods, iirc.

The only way I'd do this today is with a mosfet switchboard, and maybe reverse-protection. But, I am absolutely anti-tube/threaded-cap battery-holders.. I like sleds; dual sleds.

I completely agree. I don't ever use my mechs, and don't really plan on it, but I don't trust the FDA, so I'm just doomsday prepping.

If I ever had to use a mech as my every day mod it needs to be light weight and something that can easily fit in my pocket, which is the only reason I want a single cell box mod.

I guess I'll do some experimenting. Just hope I don't blow my face apart

Thinking of picking up a couple of boxes & 1 tube. That should cover my ass just in case

Well, if yer prepping: get an NC. I also have had great success with my 'modded' DS-style. (I may need to get a spare, like I did for NC's). You could also look into kits such as Motley Mods has.

I think the hardest part is finding a casing you like. I've got spare 510's and wire, but casings - those all suck.

hmmm, thx for the idea. I might do that also. Luckily I have a 3D printer, so I could just print my own cases.

I'm definitely going to get a NC as my dual mod, but again the dual battery weight I'm just not a fan of for every day carry but if the FDA does do something then I'll carry a quad battery mod if I have to! LMAO

I saw where you said something about all being squonkers. I have the Pulse BF and for what it's worth I've used regular attys without squonking. If I'm tired of a particular flavor and want a change I just use another atty that doesn't have a squonking pin inserted. No issues in VDrop or anything.

Thx for this. I had not even considered that. OK, cool, so it looks like I have some more options then. Some lucky vendor is going to get a nice big order from me this weekend! lol

You're more than welcome...I didn't ask, I just ended up doing it and plus that lil mod is way too easy to carry around vs a bigger one. I might buy a few more. I know what you mean on orders! I just placed three, yes three, decent orders to get started with DIY juice this week. Not to mention the other orders still to arrive...Vape mail for days coming up...
Good luck and like I said, I've not had the single issue to arise from my regular attys on the top of mine. Gives me more choices on the go as well. I can carry a RDA or tank with juice and just swap out if I get tired of a flavor (which happens a lot)!

I totally understand! I started last month looking into DIY and therefore made the plunge. I bought enough to maybe go for a good stretch, only about 90+ flavors...I know, I know...LOL Hey, I caught good buys and flavors don't go bad quick.

If you want a cheap lil mech, the Pulse BF I picked up was like $11 or $12...They are on sale everywhere for little to nothing right now. I have always dealt with in the past DNA's or these new Gene chips so a mech was something to get into. I'm loving the punch I'm getting and it's only a single battery. You can use either a 18650 or 20700 in them. Once I get over the fear of it being a mech I'm going to move up into something nicer. I love the fact it squonks and has a decent bit of power for it's size. I like running the Faris on it just as much as on the Naboo. I'm also keeping my build a little higher than norm at around a .40 vs .2...I don't want to make the front page of the news---smh.

They're Pinoy (Philippines) Mod's, the ones I posted are from Gatub, 2JNT and MCV. My main source them from Vape Happy and Dragons Den.

Yeah, sometimes I drip on a squonk mod, if my squonk atty isnt satisfying me for some reason - I like boxes over tubes because they stand up more easily, I always knock tubes over seems like

Yes, that is one of the reasons I also don't like the tubes. The more I look now, the more I am starting to like those SOB mods really nice.

Both have top notch gear, my personal favorites are MCV, Gatub and 2JNT. Expensive gear but you cannot get any better. That is for quality material, performance and beauty,seriously.

I think my problem was I didn't know any mfg's for these because they are not really made by lots of companies, but now I have several to choose from. Thanks to all who replied.
