I had recently purchased the istick pico kit with the Melo 3 tank. I really like this set up, works great! I wanted to pick up a backup tank for this mod and got the kanger toptank mini. This tank looks like it was made for the pico, the fit and finish are great. The .5 coil worked really good, lasted about a week. Today I put on the .15 NI and switched to TC. Locked in my base res. At room temp, and primed the crap out of it. The coil is marked a .15 ohm, but reads as a .22 ohm. Seems to be common. Brought the temp up slowly to 410 F. So far not real impressed. Will bring up more later. Next I will try the RBA that came with the tank. The draw on the Toptank seems a little tight compared to the melo, but I'm good with it. I will definitely be getting a couple more of the pico's.

Went to the RBA head, the NI coil wasn't cutting it, Huge difference. The coil is showing .31 ohm and anything over 16 watts sounds like I'm deep frying a turkey. Massive cloud and good flavor. I'll take flavor over clouds. I have good coverage over the wicking holes, but not to much. I see bubbles rising from the base of the head but not from the 2 holes in the side of the head (coil is tight and O-ring is good). So far no flooding from the air vents in the sides of the tank. I would think I should see air bubbles from the wicking holes, maybe not? I guess I will run it for a while, pull the tank and see if I have any juice in the air chamber. So far it looks like it's RBA all the way from now on.

Just broke it down, and the air chamber is dry. Wick is wet and the coil chamber is not flooded. Looks like I'm good to go.

The RBA on the Kanger is my favorite way to vape at low wattages. The Kanger Ni coils on the other hand are just terrible. Whether it's the vertical or horizontal, they consistently provide a shit vape. I don't vape nickel anymore but when I did the best Ni coils I found were the crown or Starre's.

Opened the diameter of the wicking holes .020" and made a coil out of Tiger wire. Ohms out at .25 running at 22 watts and chain vaping. No flooding or dry hits and the flavor and clouds are amazing. Used a rat tail file to open the holes as the parent material is way to thin for a drill. Also picked up a .5 ceramic coil to try. The coil works great once broken in, but must be run above 30 watts. Makes for a realy clean and smooth vape. Went back to the RBA. As good as the ceramic coil runs it gets the tank way to hot for my liking. I saw a lot of complaints regarding this coil for leaks and spitting. I had none of these issues as long as I ran it at higher wattage.
