Okay, I am new to RDA's and just picked up a Mephisto RDA. I built some coils, set it up and went to it. I notice the tip gets pretty hot after a long vape even though it is delrin. Is this normal with RDA's and will a 510 heat sink help? Thanks for your input!

Rocking it old school, that thing was a builder's dream back in the day with those post holes. The Mephisto drip tip is a combination of stainless steel and delrin I believe, but the vapor trail on a dripper is shorter than nearly any tank, so the fact the coils are so closer to your mouth with equal out to more heat. Open up the airflow if it's closed off or turn the wattage down if it's too much, but trust me when I say. You get used to it. Heat sinks help but not a whole lot. I recommend a dripper with a taller trail base (coil to mouth distance) and switching to an all delrin drip tip, then maybe something with more airflow. I promise you if you get a Phenotype-L and leave it wide open it'll never get hot LOL.

If the coils are 3mm, try 2.5 mm. I got a cooler vape with 2.5 mm coils.

thanks man, the tip it came with is delrin and I have the airflow open all the way. The posts and holes are MASSIVE. I have a few coil builds in mind for this thing. I will pick up another tip this week!

I'm running 2.5's. I think it is the tip though. I turned down the wattage and am getting some awesome flavor. I am coming from a TF-RTA and a TF-V4. I keep all three loaded up and switch out while I am working, so I have choices..lol.

Tighten the shit outta the coils too. I sometimes get a hotter vape if they're kinda loose. A wider bore tip would cool it down some as well.

I put this tip on and it is a LOT better, no real heat transfer. It is delrin with a SS core. I believe the problem is solved.
