Nintendo has announced Metroid: Samus Returns for the Nintendo 3DS, launching later this year.
On Twitter, Nintendo revealed the game, which is a re-imagining of Metroid II: Return of Samus, is coming on September 15 for the 3DS.
Revealed during the Nintendo Treehouse Live stream, MercurySteam, the team behind Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, was revealed as the developer of the game. Samus Returns will include free aiming.
Earlier this year, Nintendo previewed a host of upcoming Nintendo 3DS games through this year and beyond. During an April Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced three 3DS games, one of which became available that day.
