The cast and creators of FOX's new TV adaptation/continuation of Steven Spielberg's Minority Report appeared at San Diego Comic-Con today to screen 20 minutes of the pilot episode and introduce the show - which premieres September 21st - to the world of genre TV lovers.
Godzilla writer and Minority Report executive producer Max Borenstein spoke about his idea for continuing the story that began back in the 2002 Tom Cruise/Spielberg film by focusing in the other side of the tale - the Precogs who were responsible for predicting future murders.
"I loved the film so much," Borenstein told the crowd on hand in Ballroom 20, "and was thinking about how one might evolve it and spin it off. In the movie there's a system in place called PreCrime and at the end of the movie that infratstrture collapses. But then the Precogs got shuffled off to witness protection to live in secret and that's the last shot of the movie. And I was like 'Wait, that's a show. I want to know what happens next as they try to become real people again.'"
