I was driving home from work. I normally rest my mod on the no mans land space between my seat and e brake handle. So as I was approaching a red light, my mod/tank fell forward and pinched itself between my gear shifter and e brake handle. JUST RIGHT so that the fire button was being pushed constantly by the e brake handle. I have a rather aggressive build in it, so it was autofiring at 120watts with NO AIRFLOW. I would guess that maybe 5 seconds went by until I suddenly picked up on a stench of BURNING e liquid, cotton, and plastic. I grabbed it up. Probably about one second before it actually ignited. But the top cap is DONE. Melted, deformed, actually bubbles up in one spot. So now I have to somehow replace the top cap, and I don't know where to begin. The Irony is that before this incident, it was the glass that I was worried about because it did not come with a spare. FML...

Here's what happened to mine after using it a week. I thought it was getting hot when I chain vaped it but not hot enough to do this. I wrote Ijoy and I'm waiting for a response. I only noticed it when I went to clean it.

Yep, mine looks the same way, only a bit worse. And due to an auto fire, my own fault. Let me know what Ijoy says to you... Best of luck, I feel your pain. This is my favorite atty at the moment. I'm hoping that they release a v2 with more capacity. Either taller or 30mm

What kind of coils/ wattage were you using? I was running 120 at .13 all day long with a coil so big I could just barely fit the cap back on. Had no melting issues until my auto fire mishap. I'm just trying to figure out how much is too much ...Here's what happened to mine after using it a week. I thought it was getting hot when I chain vaped it but not hot enough to do this. I was on the fence between the Avocado 24 and the limitless. Went with the latter because I prefer chuffs over 510s, and the OCD in me didn't like the offset posts...
You may be right about the build quality though. With the Avocodo being more solid. I am going to wonder now if the limitless top cap weakens now with heat over time. I am still going to pursue getting it working again because until today, it was awesome.
On another note, I am contemplating the Ohmega Calypso at the moment as well...

Kanthal Aliens at .15 and 85 watts. Like I said I noticed the tank was getting kind of hot but not to the extent that I thought it would melt it. If I wouldn't have went to rewick and clean the tank I wouldn't have noticed it. Very dissapointed with this. I ordered a metal replacement that someone said would fit from FT. I think you lose the airflow adjustment but your able to use a 510 drip tip. For $3 and change its worth a shot.

I might go that route as well. I don't really use afc much, I usually vape everything I own wide open. Hence my preference for chuff tops. It would be good to have a metal back up though. Let me know how it fits and how it vapes compared to the stock setup.
I guess the Reborn is 24mm?

Your coils are sitting too high probably. I can imagine how hot that magma cap is going to get. I run my at 130watt and up without melting it or welding my lips to it
Coils are not sitting to high. The cap is plastic. Even if they were, which they are not it still shouldn't melt.

Thank you for the link. FT says that it ships on 7/9, basically meaning out of stock at the moment. I'm going to hold off until it is in stock, as their ship times are atrocious enough. Speaking of Fasttech though, They have the original limitless on stock for $18 and change. And the clone for $9. I'll probably pick up the top cap, and one of each for backup. I'll take the clone to work with me to ride around and get beat up. Save the authentics for home or special occasion.
Maybe you pocket fired or something one day without realizing it? It's happened to me before. I agree that the plastic top cap should not melt. But if you take the airflow out of the equation, I have seen first hand how hot it can get. Really fast...
I guess anything is possible. It was on my VT133 and that is the DNA I carry around. I don't think so though. Still I really don't think it should have melted. I contacted Ijoy and they're sending me a replacement.

Could be. Anyway, I have heard that if you combine an "in stock" item with a "ships on (future date) item on the same order, it can get confusing and delay the time it takes to get delivered to your door.

Got the cap today , I did have to change the oring that it came with because of a little play , she's tight light Nat booty now , just have to find that one special tip for it
