Mixing small amounts of flavorart recipes

Hi,

I recently bought about 20+ bottles of flavourart concentrates from nicotine river to mix some recipes from head in the clouds. The first recipe I made was german gummy bears at max vg which I thought lacked enough flavour.

My problem is that at 100ml the recipe called for amounts of 1-2 drops which made it impossible to make a sample quantity without diluting the concentrates. I am interested to find out how other people acheive this and whether the drops from my bottles are an adequte measurement.

HIC said in one of his posts that he does all his mixes max vg - maybe I could mix at 70/30 for increased flavour?

Are you sure you are not confusing percentages with drops.. because if it truly is concentrated to 1-2 drop per 100ml. I'd don't see any way around dilution. But unless the recipe is for less than 25ml..... I assume numbers less than 10 are percentages. Single digits drops are rare in bigger quantities. I mean 2 drops is what like 0.002% of 100ml. Might be off by a zero. But still.

Yes, agree, if it calls for two drops at 100 ml something seems really off. Drops is a poor, poor way to measure. My advice is get some cheap measuring syringes or a simple, cheap pocket scale (0,01 is fine).

I use a scale for measuring also, as drops are too different to be accurate.
If juice is too weak you can just double the amounts used.
Adding more PG base will also bring out more flavor IMO.

If you're making a sample batch using 100ml total somethings wrong, but I suspect you meant 10ml ;).

I think I remember reading that HIC mixes with higher PG because he prefers flavour over vapor production so you might have to tweak the percentages a bit if you're mixing max VG. And like Heabob said, PG brings out flavours.

Don't give up on DIY just yet! When I first started I followed recipes and couldn't taste anything. I learned that even the best recipes out there had to be tweaked in order to taste good at my prefered PG to VG ratio and taste.

Thanks for the encouragement, I do intend to push forward towards the goal of a perfect vape. For flavour, what ratio do you use?

Given the title of this thread, this looks relevant: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/how-to-mix-small-batches-of-complex-recipes.1980/
:) There are a lot of good comments and other suggestions in that thread.

If you have a favorite PG/VG ratio, that's what you should use. If you suspect your base is causing problems with your mixes, this is something to consider: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/finding-the-problem-when-your-diy-tastes-bad.88262/ . When I buy new nic or new VG, I try to remember to test like that before I mix a lot with it.

Nope, something's not right there, @martybaker
Do you mean "at 10ml" instead of "at 100ml"? I've never used such a tiny quantity of flavoring that a 100ml batch would require drops. You can PM me here (click my avatar on the left, then click 'start a conversation') and we can walk through it, if you like.
