Mixing wires on Claptons

Why would you do this? An example would be SS core with Kanthal wrap. If I used this example, would I be able to use TC? Just curious.

No tc, the wires are different enough electrically that TC would be hit or miss. I'd just go completely Stainless and not worry about it.

I think builders do it mainly for the different coloring possibilities. I can't see any benefit for the average vaper.
I personally built my first pair of aliens using kanthol cores with SS wraps simply because that's what I had on hand. I planned to use them only in power mode anyway, so why not. Now I use them on my G2 in xxx mode to TC them.

Also, throwing in some kanthol, or other higher res wire, keeps the resistance from coming out super low on intricate builds.

The G2 is probably the only mod that can do it. I have one too!

Yes you can do any wrap and still do TC. The wrap has absolutely no effect on resistance other than the cores ID is slightly larger. The wrap isn't part of the circuit.
You can TC anything if it has SS cores.

Thanks, much appreciated.

I like to build dual coils, and also am practicing exotic coils with ribbon and thin wrap wire for Claptons, so I use kanthal (to keep resistance up) for the thick cores and Nichrome 80 as the wrap because N80 heats up a bit faster than kanthal. You can do it for certain colorings as well using SS, or some people I think just use what they have on hand and it ends up mixed.

What do you mean by "certain colorings"?
