Mod for hiking

Hey all, need some help finding a mod. Now that I'm no longer smoking, I'm picking hiking and mountain biking back up. I'm trying to find a rugged and waterproof or water resistant mod capable of 75w-100w. Would like something that's rubber cased or double cased and shock resistant as well.

Prefer a single battery (18650 or 26650), but double is fine as well. I don't usually go out for more that 2 nights, but battery life is kinda important as the less batteries I carry the better.

Price point: Don't want to spend more than $300 but am willing to go to $400 (begrudgingly).

Don't know if there's anything like that out there, but any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

Personally For this use I would be looking at an old fashioned Mechanical mod. Reason. Whats more indestructable than a metal tube mod. Mechanical mods are also water proof. Have dropped mine in lakes, streams and the swimming pool. Even ran it over with the Jeep once. Pick it-up wipe it down and Vape-on. Now your 75-100 watts would require a 2 battery Box mod, but still going take a lot of torture to really hurt a metal boxed mod. I don't recommend trying to get more than 80 watts from 1 battery anyway, regulation or not.

Yeah the 75-100w is just more of a top end limit more or less. The only mechanical device I own is the noisy cricket, but if that thing were to get any moisture on it, I think it'd fry.

I might have to check out some 26650 tube mods. Any recommendations?

How would the cricket fry?????? Circuit boards and wires fry. Your Cricket has neither. Wipe, blow or shake the water off and out. wipe down the batts. Vape.

Sorry can't really suggest which mod. Just the type, I would use. I only have 2 mods I use. Both were purchased with rough outdoor treatment in mind. But here my Outdoor set-ups. They are also my ADV, rigs. The first is a Brass Origin mod, which I use in 18500 mode with a Kayfun on top. The second a clone Reo grand with a Hobo 3 or Chalice 3 clone on top. Now understand I vape at 20watts or less and get 1 full day per 18650 battery, both mods and a little over half a day with the Origin in 18500. With the right build I bet I could go a weekend with your Cricket.

Yea I'm just worried about any moisture (rain, sweat, dropping in a puddle, etc) that might accumulate and when I go to fire it, boom. Got a trip planned next week, so I guess I'll try the cricket with a spare set and see how it goes.

How would you keep your wallet, cellphone or matches from getting wet during a hiking trip? Put them in in a waterproof bag.
So why don't you put your mod in there too?
You could also get a small cellphone waterproof case, just for your mod.

Take a sturdy boxmod or a mech and an RDA or a full metal tank that won't break if it falls.

I actually don't take my wallet and cellphone with me, especially when we bike and not hike. I'm thinking more of when we camp and fish. I would like something that if it gets wet, I won't have to worry. As far as tanks go, I just throw vape bands over the whole tank. My fantastic tobecco clones don't really warrant any protection lol.

Well I've dropped my mechs into the deep end of the pool and into water on hikes and 4x4 trips. In every case I was vaping again in less than 10 minutes, including rewicking. That's not going to happen with any regulated mod or most wired mods of any kind

Invader Mini by Heatvape(50W). There was another one, I can't remember. Twisted420 had a review on it.

My ipv d2 has been out in the nasty before with no problems. I bring a kanger dripbox out on the trails now.

I second the D2. I've had this one since around about the time they came out and it's been nothing but a solid performer. I've dropped it more times than my phone and never had any issues. It's tiny and gets great battery life; perfect outdoor activity mod, IMO.

I got mine shortly after they were released up here. It outlasted rdas. Been in mud, water and snow. Scratched dented and still rockin

I agree about the dripbox for hiking. It can take a beating fairly well single battery and depending on how much you smoke u may be able to leave juice behind and just use whats in the squonker

I have a couple of the Encom Voidrays, they are tough, freakishly lightweight, fires to 60w, TC, extremely comfortable, doesn't heat up even when chain vaping, I get extremely good battery life, and they can be found for about $20. I really like this mod.
