mod suggestions please!

Been vaping a few years and quit altogether a month ago. Had a family member pass away and bought a pack of analogs and that was all it took to get hooked on the nasty sticks again. After my third pack I bought a kanger evod mega to get through the cravings. Its been a tease ever since!
Before I was using the old Atlantis with an evic vt and was satisfied. But this evod mega "pen" is killing me!
I feel like a alcoholic sipping beer through a tiny straw. I miss the feel of that cloud drenching my bare bloated belly as it gently fell upon me.
Enough of all that though..
I want to vape again. I can't do the tobacco for reasons we all know.
I'm pretty set with using the Atlantis tank and will probably purchase the Atlantis 2 for a few reasons.
One, I never had one leak on the battery post..two, they're comfortably priced..and three, I'm interested in this whole temp control aspect.
With the Atlantis 2 I can switch from the regular sub ohm coils if I get the urge to blow clouds and switch to Ni coils for that constant vape, increased flavor and avoiding the dry burnt hits when my attention span escapes me(which is often).
Back to the question I've yet to ask...
From what I've been reading these past few days I'm going to need a tc mod obviously but preferably one with dual batteries because of the drain tc can put on a battery. Or am I understanding this wrong? ...Or simply misinformed.
I thought about going with the joytech vt again but I understand it only uses one battery. The one I had before, the battery was sealed inside the box mod and once it's lived it's life that was that.
I've tried googling phrases like best temp mod for Atlantis but usually end up with store sites.
With all this in mind, what mod with temp control and dual rechargeable batteries and around $50-$60 would you suggest for the new Atlantis? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I really like the Hcigar VT133 (DNA200 Chip) for a dual 18650 mod in TC (I only use TC). It can be had for ~$83 shipped from Ecig.com with coupon code: ILOVEYOU. Here's a link to a thread where we are talking about it:

If that's more than you want to spend, check out the IPV5 from the same place. I prefer the DNA200 chips for TC but have also heard good things about the IPV5 and it's very reasonably priced.

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks Steve! I have considered the IPV5. Will have to take another look at it.

In regards to my original post, I was under the impression(from reading others experience) that I would be losing vapor using ni and temp control. Just saw a youtube vid that put that notion to rest!
Seems that whatever I decided on, with the price of batteries, I'll be spending closer to $80-$100 regardless.
Any suggestions on batteries?
I see most use 18650 but as far as trusted brands that will last?

Your Welcome! I think the IPV5 is $38 and change from Ecig.com with the code. As for TC, I've used Ni200, Ti01, SS316L, and SS430. I've settled on SS430 because it has about a 50% higher TCR than SS316L (I use RTA's and build my own coils). A nice thing about SS is it can be used in TC or Power mode. It's a very versatile wire. If your interested, here's a link where I bought it.
http://www.unkamensupplies.com/prod...e-nickel-free-introductory-sale-100-guarantee

That's only if you wrap your own coils. Might come in handy in the future if you ever decide to go in that direction.

PS I didn't notice any loss of vapor using Ni200. Everyone has their preference for wires to use in TC. I actually think Ni200 works well in most mods because it has the highest TCR out of TC wires that I know of. The biggest disadvantage when building your own coils is it's very malleable (Not a problem if you are buying premade heads).

Cheers,
Steve

Ya I simply dont have the time/skill/eyesight to build coils lol that's what attracted me to the Atlantis coils...easy and simple to replace!
Thanks for the info on SS! I didn't know that aspect! Info like this is why I love forums!

I would recommend an iStick TC40W and a Nautilus Mini for a first time vaper but maybe your more advanced than that. It does provide a vape cloud comparable to a killer stick but maybe you want more. Hope it is helpful if not Good Luck.

Not to throw a wrench in the works-but id consider a different tank. Aspire clieto is currently my favorite and they have SS coil option, like others have said SS is the way to go-you can vape it in both TC mode and wattage mode no need to change coils.

As for mods-im a joytech guy. Love the vtc mini for size and performance-many think it deserved mod of the year. Joytech has truly supported their products with updates and i think that counts for a lot. Just saying "firmware upgradable" doesn't mean a company WILL actually update them, but joytech has followed through. This is why i went with the cuboid-essentially the same features as the vtc mini but with duel batteries. I said "man id love a duel battery version of the vtc mini" and presto, out came the cuboid.

I understand that dna boards have great reputation and im sure its well deserved-but until they provide mac support I won't buy one because it seems pointless to do so when id be unable to take advantage of part of their products feature set.

Anyways, that's my 2 cents.

Do what DNASteve said. Go to ecig, com pick up a Vt133 or a IPV5. You can't go wrong with either one it just depends on how much control you want over your vape and how much you want to spend. Pair either one with a Crown Tank and some .25 SS coils and you'll have a real nice setup. If you're just going to vape on pre built coils the Crown is a tough tank to beat. Also listed on the same site at a great price for both the tank and coils.

Thank you all for the suggestions. It gives me much to think over.
In that cluster of thinking I think I'm gonna stick with Ni coils on an Atlantis 2. Its predecessor has just been a reliable and trouble free tank and it's what I'm familiar with.
As for mods, I don't find myself needing all that power. Just something reliable and something that is going to last me all day.
Vaping isn't a hobby for me. I don't plan on buying and building everything possible.
Simply a alternative to smoking with the added bonus of exploring different flavors.
I don't need clouds I can build castles on, just something full and satisfying.
Thanks again for all the suggestions and of someone could suggest a dependable battery? I know some mods require different batteries but as far as reputable brands?

Here's an article that will be helpful:
The Top 5 18650 Batteries for Vaping

I think the all around best 18650 battery for vaping is the Samsung 25R. It has 2500 mah, rated at 20 amps CDR. But Samsung has been none to under-rate their batteries so they hit those specs without breaking a sweat.

Cheers,
Steve

Hey Adam, just wanted to thank you for that two cents worth of information!
I did more homework and ended going with the Cuboid mod and couldn't be happier! Solid, sleek, minimalistic and paired with the Atlantis 2 and all its coil options...I have tons of possibilities!
Bought the pair at vapenw on memorial day and it was in my mailbox that Wednesday! Everything checked out legit on Aspires and Joyetechs site as far as the scratch and verify deal goes.
Got a good period on batteries and a nitecore i4 charger at imrbatteries.com. They seemed kinda slow on shipping though but I did get a battery case thrown in and a sticker.
All in all I got a versatile set up for sub ohm tank vaping with tc all for under $100 which was my main goal.
To top that all of a bought a five dollar raffle at the local b&m and ended up winning 60 ml of pure vg juice! :)
Thanks again to everyone that replied. Yall were a huge help!

Glad you got something you're happy with! I still think the vtc mini holds up against any (non dna) single battery mod that has come out since, especially with the updates, and the cuboid is essentially the same mod with two batteries. Im sure you're gonna have fun experimenting with TC, look into "tcr" mode and you can dial in the temp to your liking.
