Moonshot vs. Griffin

I'm debating purchasing an RTA. I drip 95% of the time, and because of that, my tanks get little to no use. However, I'm thinking if I built my typical fused claptons in a RTA, maybe I'd get comparable flavor/clouds. I'm trying to decided if I should go with a griffin or moonshot, or maybe forget the whole idea all together, if I'm told that an RTA will never compare to dripping.

I dont know who told you a RTA will never be like dripping...they must of not tried the Griffin or Boreas yet...These are the 2 RTA's I would suggest getting as you cant loose with either of them.

I have both the Moonshot and the Griffin and between the two would pick the Moonshot. The Griffin is pretty great, but I like gear on the smaller side. Moonshot capacity is only 2ml, so it does require more frequent refills. Overall it performs similar to my drippers and the flavor is fantastic. Another possible downside is large coil builds would be tough. I've run Clapton's in mine, but the chamber is small and it was too much heat for me.

Appreciate the feedback. I guess griffin it is, although I may hold off for a few, since it seems like they're releasing a new version soon. Anybody try the moonshot? Looks like it's simple to build with only two post holes. Speaking of geekvape, their avacado has my eye as well.

You might want to watch the reviews on the moonshot before taken the leap to see if the way you need to build it is as easy as it looks ;)
The Griffin, Boreas, Aromamizer Supreme and other that use the Velocity design are really easy to build on and wick and provide some of the best experiences there is...

If only I had waited just another minute to post haha. Sounds good SF, what do you think of using smaller claptons in the moonshot? I usually use 28g with a 36 or 38 wrap.

The moonshot can be a little tricky to build at first since you have to have to build your could up higher. Once you get the hang of it it's easy enough to do.
The huge down side of the tank for me is the 2ml capacity. If you chain vape it you will empty out the tank in less than 15 minutes.

Lol I watched it a couple weeks ago, but fast forwarded through the majority of it. Clearly, I'm not patient enough to build it if I can't get through the review. :D

I have the moonshot . it is a awesome tank. But I also just ordered a goblin mini v2 because I love my regular goblin mini. And a 22mm griffin is also on order. I ordered that based on reviews and recommendations and the juice capacity.
The moon shot empties quickly and I only vape it at 50 to 60 w with ss build at .17 ohms in power mode.

Appreciate the perspective everyone. Think I'm going to wait and grab the griffin 25 when it's available. All things considered, if I run the claptons that I drip with at 7 wraps, they ohm out at .42-.44, and need to be run at a bare minimum of 70-80w to fire properly; I'll be refilling the moonshot so often, I might as well be dripping. The griffin sounds like a much better fit, but I feel like I might as well wait for the 25, that top air flow is mighty appealing. :rolleyes:o_O

I have both the Griffin and the Moonshot. Taste I have to give to the Moonshot, hands down. The Griffin is good in its own right but I find that it's built cheap. Quality is not at par with other rta's.

The downside of the Moonshot though is it's very tricky to wick. And most of the time it leaks bad. Having said that, I still prefer it over my Griffin. One for the taste and second since I dont like big rta's, they're not pocket-friendly.

I just bought the iCloud Cig Moradin today and honestly at first, I wanted to exchange it to the Avocado. But I'm glad I didnt.

Here's a pic:

This rta is surprisingly amazing! Taste is much better than my Moonshot and build quality is top notch. It doesnt leak at all, even in my first try of wicking it. The tank also stays cooler than my Moonshot after chain vaping for 30mins straight. Juice and air flow work flawlessly too. Like I said, zero leaking.

Only downsides I have with this rta are:

1. You can't take the whole thing apart. 3 peices in total: the drip tip, the glass and chimney are one whole peice and the base/deck. Cleaning just takes a little longer.

2. Since the chimney and glass are one piece, there's no spare glass. You break it, you lose it. Buy another one.

3. Drip tip is not 510 compatible. But I'm liking it so it really doesn't bother me. Stays cool even when the tank gets a little warm.

Overall though, I have to say that it's really an awesome rta. My fave to date and my daily workhorse. I run this on my eVic Mini or my Mini Volt and it's really a great combo

If that is your usual setup the Griffin is definitely a better choice then the moonshot. Moonshot would probably get uncomfortably hot with that many wraps and wattage. If your holding out for the 25mm give a look at the Boreas, people are raving about it.
