Moradin Chalky Taste

Just built my new Moradin. Wicking high vg works great. But I get a chalky taste. I have tried it with 2 juices to rule that out. IDK if I am contacting the ceramic in the chimney or if it is just the nature of the beast. Gave it a good rinse and scrub and still chalky. Flavor is good. Except for the chalkiness.

Built a simple dual 26g 8.5 wrap 2.5mm touching coil (tried spaced but couldn't get it to fit without contacting the ceramic chimney.) Might try a 2mm coil next unless any suggestions. Have my coil about as low to the airflow as it can be without choking the airflow and tight to the posts.

I have one and I love it. I have 2.5mm Claptons in it, although I can't remember the gauges of the wire I used. I don't have my coils touching any of the ceramic parts though.

Have to give this a bump. Still having issues. Somebody has to have had these issues.

Tried removing the top portion of ceramic. Helped a little but still has a chalky taste and leaves my tongue dry.

Have given it 2 water baths and 1 alcohol bath to no avail.

Really wonder if my ceramic might not have cured properly.

Sucks because thick juice flows well, easy to wick, and it seems great flavor. Under the chalkiness.
