Most efficient tank for coils?

Hi folks. I've currently got the Kanger Subtank Mini, Subtank Plus, and Aspire Nautilus. I'm using these with an IPV D2 and a Sigelei Mini. I find that I go through coils faster than I would really like to. I'm wondering if there are more efficient tanks out there in terms of having to not buy coils every 3-4 days? Also, the Kanger coils seem to be VERY hit or miss. Lots of duds out of the box. Opinions and info welcome. Thank you.

I only say the starre tank because I've bought multiple different tanks since the starre tank and everytime I find nmyself being disappointed with the new tank and I go right back to the starre this has been going on for the better part ofa year now

There's not enough info in the question to answer correctly.

3 days is ridiculous for Kanger ST coils. These routinely last 2 weeks. They're good coils.
Something else is at play here. What juice are you vaping and at what wattage?
Specifically, which coil heads are you using? Verticals? Horizontals? Ni200?
Are you doing the little 'pin poke' thing on the Kanger coil heads?
Are you a mouth-to-lung vaper? or direct lung inhale?

Are these clones? I've never seen a dud KST coil head.

As it sits, your OP question is just fanboi bait. Neeed... moarrr... info! :)
No one can give you accurate info on your real problem without knowing these things.

That's a fair analysis. Here goes:

Juice: I'm usually using Mt Baker Vapor juice with an extra flavor shot. usually sweet flavors which I'm learning after reading other forums kills the coils faster. Time to kill the flavor shot maybe. I'm also just starting to learn about steeping. I'm to sure if that comes into play here or to but I haven't been steeping the juice I've been buying at all. I recently bought a batch of Vape Wild juice and I can't juice any of them. They told me I have to let them steep which got my into researching what that is all about. Would using juices that aren't steeped kill my coils? What juices do you use/recommend that make the coil last longer?

Wattage: Generally using the 1.2ohm coils and vaping around 21watts

Coils: I've just been buying whatever I find online that are the Kanger coils for my units. They are official Kanger coils though, not fakes of any kind. I just learned last night after looking up all this stuff that they are moving to vertical coils now. I've had both shipped to me without knowing that there were different ones out there.

Pin Poke: No idea what this is so it's safe to say i'm not doing it.

Inhale: I'm a straight to lung inhaler.

Duds: Odd that you say you've never seen a Kanger dud. I've been on a lot of forums this weekend and have read tons of people complaining about all the duds they get from the Kanger coil replacements.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. Hopefully I can get some more help here having filled in all the blanks. Thanks!

Pin Poke as defined in the Webster Dictionary: On the ST Horizontal coil take a fine pin and run it through the cotton and coil itself being careful to not disturb the wire of the coil itself. You can even carefully take tweezers and try and pull out a couple strands of cotton from the middle. On a ST Vertical coil you can do the same, run pin in to wick hole but do not try and push past wire all the way through. Basically just loosening up the cotton surrounding the coil for improved wicking.
There took the bait!

What VG/PG ratio are you ordering for your juice? That might be the issue you're having. Many tanks can't handle high VG.

Like Shark, I also get about 2 weeks from my Kanger heads, although I generally prefer using the RBA section. If you aren't using very high VG juice you can completely stop using prebuilt heads by switching to the RBA. Some people aren't comfortable with building coils and I completely understand if that's the case for you.

Honestly, I much prefer the eGo One Mega over the Kanger Subtank... but only with the CLR heads. Those heads last a solid week or two, vape beautifully with up to 70 VG juice, and they are insanely easy to rewick... use for another week or two, rewick... then another. They're also designed to be rebuilt. If you go that rout you should be able to vape for a year on one pack of heads, some wire, and a pack of cotton.

The Crown is amazing and the 0.5 ohm coils seem to last a long time, but I've only used my first coil for one week. Every few times I fill it I run a Q-tip through the center of the coil head and the stainless steel coil shines like new every time. Pretty impressive, but it guzzles juice and needs more watts than my other tanks. The flavor is almost too much. It's pretty crazy. I just ordered a pack of 1.2 ohm coils but I haven't tried them out yet. If you don't mind burning through more juice then the Crown is amazingly hard to beat. If you go with this tank I HIGHLY recommend only using 6mg juice tops. I switched to 3mg.

The Freemax Starre does get a lot of praise for their coils but I haven't used it. I much prefer to vape around 1 ohm and the coils only go up to 0.5 ohms. That isn't a deal breaker. You may want use lower nic juice for any high wattage tank.

You might want to familarize yourself with the variety of Kanger subtank coils that are available now. Sweet Vapes has a fairly complete listing and description on their website. They also are one of the stores that list compatability among different brands of tanks if your thinking of trying something else. The Atlantis V2 coils seem to be popular with the Herakles tanks.

I question the number of coils your going through with the subtanks and wonder if you've got the right tank for your expectations. IMO there are enough sales and discounts around that it doesn't pay to buy non genuine coils due to those having a higher rate of failure. I vape high VG and dark gunky liquids and always get a good solid week, add another week if I rinse out the coil. I'm lazy which is why I don't want to do my own. lol.

Why do you say the coil has gone bad? I notice your other tank is Nautilus and I'm trying to figure out what qualities you are expecting from a tank. There are so many choices and taste is subjective, that you maybe expecting qualities that another tank system is better at. Flavor or clouds, warm or cool for examples. Good luck.
