I need some advice. I'm moving up to a Coolfire 4 40watt from an Itaste VV 3. What would be a good ENEXPENSIVE tank to use?

Oh I used to LOVE my vv3!

So... you looking for something with ready made coils, or something to build? What's your style of vaping? Gonna take a stab that you MTL over DL?

I still love the VV3. I've only been vaping for a little less than a year, but I wanted something with a little more power. I'm not so much into "Cloud Chasing" as "Flavor Chasing". But I would like to see a little more cloud. I may be wrong, but I'm thinking that a sub ohm tank might be a little much for me right now. And because I'm still kind of a newbie, what is MTL over DL? sorry for the ignorance.

MTL is mouth to lung, a draw like you puff a cigarette. DL is inhaling directly to your lungs, not holding it in your mouth first, then inhaling. I'm a MTL vaper, but like a little more airflow than some of the super tight restricted airflow tanks.

Ones I like with adjustable airflow:

Eleaf GS (not gs air) - has ready made coils.
Herakles Tank (ready made - but you can purchase an RBA and make your own coils)
Merlin Tank - make your own coils
Goblin Mini v1 - make your own

More wide open airflow tanks are not what I'm used to, but the Boreas (build your own) and the Crown (ready made, or buy the RBA for building coils) are highly recommended.

There are lots more options for both, so hopefully other will chime in, too. These are the ones I really like, myself.

My opinion? For the few extra dollars just get the Coolfire TC kit. Mod is awsome and the tank is supposed to be nice as well. I've seen the kit for under $65.

I vape mtl. I've heard the I Sub G is a nice tank, but I don't think I want to pay quite that much for a tank! thank you very much for your input.

Is the TC kit like the Plus kit? I think the Plus Kit comes with the I Sub G tank. Not sure if I'm ready for 70 watts and a sub ohm tank yet! Lol

So do you think you want to build your own coils, or for now, use something that takes already made coils?

Already made coils would work fine for me for now.

Those 2 I have experience with and you can get coils for them that are safe for TC use, or you can get the regular ones that are safe in regular power mode.

Yes, but you don't have to use all the wattage and I believe that tank has a pre built 1.2 mtl coil. The kit is actually a 100w mod with the new Aethon chip which is a great board.

Might you be talking about the Innokin Cortex starter kit? It's actually a good little TC mod and the isub S that comes with it seems to work quite well. I bought one as my commuter mod and have no complaints and I use both TC and Watts depending on what coil im playing with.

i got a coolfire IV with an Isub tank at Christmastime last year. LOVED the battery but the tank, not so much (i PIFfed both recently, to someone who absolutely loves the combination but man do i miss that battery lol). the drip tip, IIRC, is not changeable and was a little too wide bore to comfortably mtl for me even with very restricted airflow - your mileage may vary.

I used the nautilus mini on my coolfire and my iSticks (30w and 40w TC) up until about 2 weeks ago when I switched to my plato and, oddly enough, from mtl to DL. i still use the nauti coils as i'm not really into higher wattage vaping (i'm right around 11.5-12 watts on a 1.8 ohm coil), and that seems to be good for me.

Well I am a switch hitter DL most of the time, and MTL when trying to be stealth. I do like the cuboid mod, with the Tobeco mini tank. It's really what you want. Do you want a mod with internal non replaceable batteries, or a mod that you change the batteries out on? I got a good friend the Cortex as a bday gift, and he likes it, but he recently got a cuboid with the Tobeco Mini also. I do know he was having leak issues with the Isub S that came with the Cortex. Recently I am trying out the Horizon Tech Krixus tank, and it MIGHT produce a bit more flavor than the mini, but jury is still out on that. I wouldn't hesitate on the cortex or CF 4, then get the tank you want.

I ended up getting a I Sub G and a Aspire Triton 2. I thought what the hell, if I'm going to do it, I might as well jump in with both legs! I like both tanks, but I like the Triton 2 a little better. I love the top load feature and it doesn't krackel as much as the I Sub G. Still, they are both very good tanks.
