The bigger picture of Mr. Robot continued to unfold in the third episode. Until now, Evil Corp was a nebulous villain. The company as a whole is greedy and bad, and it was enough for them to be the big bad generic business. But their evil has been personified with Terry Colby being implicated in the deaths of his employees and with the violent and manipulative Tyrell Wellick. Elliot knows some of Colby's history but has no idea about the coldness of Tyrell, and that has the potential to be a huge problem.
"D3bug.mkv" spent a fair amount of time with Tyrell, and it was chilling. On the Joffrey Baratheon scale of demented, Tyrell would be an equal to the bratty king. He pays a homeless man to take a beating from him when he's upset. The word awful doesn't cover it. What pushed it over the edge and made it harder to watch was how calculated and emotionless he was.
