Whilst Xbox still hasn't officially confirmed a release date for Halo Infinite, multiple leaks suggest that the game will be released on December 8. Before reading on, here's your healthy reminder that any and all leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Twitter user Idle Sloth recently shared a screenshot from a Taiwanese online shopping site that suggests the game will be released on December 8. The tweet does, however, point out that the listing states that Forge mode will be in the game from launch. 343 Industries recently said that Forge mode, alongside campaign co-op for Halo Infinite, would be delayed until after launch.
With incorrect details surrounding Forge mode, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that the leak was in fact misinformed. However, a Microsoft Store listing spotted on Twitter by Microsoft and Xbox games leaker Alumia_Italia also seems to corroborate a December 8 release.
In a follow-up tweet, the user explained that the store listing for Halo Infinite has been live since August 26 last year and stated that it had recently been updated with the new release date, description, and screenshots. If true, it is unclear for how long the listing presented the captured information. At time of writing, Halo Infinite's UK, US, and AU Microsoft Store pages list a placeholder release date of December 31.
Xbox refrained from giving fans a release date for Halo Infinite during its recent Gamescom 2021 Livestream. The company did announce some good holiday news, however, revealing to fans that the Xbox Series X/S and the Xbox One will be getting cloud gaming later this year. Halo Infinite's inclusion on Game Pass means that it will be just one of many games available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to stream through their consoles in the future.
