Yeah, its a thing. The only solution is more deliberate dripping. Always drip only as much as you need directly on the coils/wicks and vape it all before you put it down. The painting technique really does help.
How you set up your wicks and position your coils can help, too. Mount your coils up and in towards the center of the deck. This reduces the amount of juice getting shot into the holes via spit back. Keep the wicks a little longer and slant them back towards the posts. You want them completely off of the bottom airflow sections - all it takes is one rogue drop of juice flowing down the wick catching the lip to cover your mod. I've seen it happen!
Other than that, I got nothing. It's inevitable because of the aforementioned spit-back issue and condensation.
I plug up the bottom holes on my MX v4 with the little silicone stoppers. Still plenty of flavor, interestingly enough. I think bottom airflow is overrated. It's not that there's nothing to it. It's just that there's much more to flavor than the airflow orientation. I have top and side airflow atties that give comparable and even superior flavor. Don't get tied down and settle for it if you can't stand the fact that it leaks. You don't have to put up with that to get the flavor you want from your vape.
