There are only a few things that can result in a harsh hit... in no particular order here are some...

You didn't let the wick set in the juice long enough to soak into the wick enough... let your new coil head set for a few minutes before you start vaping on it. Take a few primer puffs without pushing on the button to help the juice wick a little faster and also help get rid of possible bubbles that are hanging on the wick/coil.

E-juice is too thick causing it to wick too slowly and letting the coils overheat. If its this cause, initially ( after you let the head coil set long enough at first ) your vape is just fine and then later it gets harsher as the juice isn't able to keep up with the vaping being done. Turning down the power/voltage a little can help with some of these cases since the juice won't evaporate as quickly. Descreasing the air flow can also help since that will allow a little more back pressure to be produced which will pull in juice quicker.

Too much air flow... dial the air flow back a little. The tighter the draw, the more back pressure that is created pulling in more juice. While on this subject but unrelated to the harsh vapor... too tight of a draw can also pull in too much juice resulting in over wicking causing minor leaking.

Too high of a power/voltage setting for the air flow and thickness of juice that you have. Again... you are evaporating juice faster than you are pulling it in which dries out the wick/coil and results in a harsh hit. Lowering the power/voltage can help when changing the airflow previously mentioned doesn't.

Just a badly made coil/head... Kanger makes some of the best coil/heads but they can't be perfect... some with poorly wrapped coils can lead to having hot leads or wraps that result in a harsh vape. Any poor wrap or hot leg on the coil... ie not getting cooled enough by the juice... will cause a harsher hit.

Fake or clone coil/heads.... there are a lot of fakes and clones out there and just because they were sold to you as a Kanger doesn't always guarantee it... This is why some vendors are recommended over others that just seem to have better pricing. Fakes and clones are usually much lower QC to no QC being done than the original Kangers so bad heads are much more likely.

That would lead to weak hits. rdsok pretty much covered it.
