My brand new coil taste burnt

I've only been vaping for a few weeks and I have a smok priv v8 there it no wattage or anything just pop the battery in and vape. And it comes with a smok tfv8 baby tank with 2 coils both 0.25. The first one was preinstalled and I primed that one perfectly and it lasted me 2 and a half weeks. Today I changed the coil for the first time I primed it let it sit for 20 minutes and it tastes burnt. I don't know how to fix it. Could really use some feed back. And the juice I'm using is 70vg 30pg. And the first coil worked perfectly just don't know why the second one is tasting burnt after doing the exact same thing as I did the first time. I've also did the primer puffs. I filled the tank after priming it and let it sit and every time I take a hit, it's a burnt taste.

Sometimes the cotton is way too "compressed" on some of the OCC coils, which makes it difficult for them to absorb liquid. Try using a safety pin or straight pin to poke holes in the cotton. Sometimes this will improve absorption.

Yep, sorry you had to find out about the "factory coil lottery" like that. Sometimes you'll end up getting some bad coils, it just happens. You can do what @Teresa P said, that fixes the issue ~80% of the time. Though if it's tasting burnt, it's probably too late for that coil.

EDIT: Oh and where are my manners, welcome to the Underground, hope you like it here :D

Welcome to VU.
My though from reading the title of this thread was.
I will bet it is a beastie tank on an unregulated stick.

So SMOK is known for being lackluster in the quality control department allowing a lot of "bunk" products through. The worse known case of this is from the coils though. You may get a pack where 1 of 3 coils just burns or gives you an "atomizer short" warning but since you have no screen I believe your button will just flash. When you get a mod with a screen there's a little more room to figure out these issues.

first post here, joined so I could answer you,
google SMOKTech TFV8 Baby Beast RBA
You should be able to get one for around ten bux
I just bought a mod with a BB tank and im gonna get one as well.
Ive seen videos online where people wash out their coils with hot water and some pressure. i would try it if it was my last coil.
youll notice sometimes youll get a new tank that just tastes kind of chemically, i wash my tanks when i get them with the coil and it helps.

@HuntingtonBeachVapeShop Okay, so my buddy told me i should look into rebuilding coils. Would know if I can do that with the mod I have or would I have to upgrade?

So there's some math involved that I'm not educated enough to give you, but you won't get amazing results unless you build a certain way (which may not be feasible, this is from my understanding). When you build on an RBA or RDA, the resistance(ohm) and type of metal of your coils needs to be factored in to how much electricity you send or you risk blowing your setup. Since you have a regulated mod meaning there's a computer chip in there to prevent that, if you set something up wrong, there's a fail safe to prevent any harm. You will more than likely not get an optimal hit is all.

Okay @HuntingtonBeachVapeShop I'm definitely going to do more research on that. Because I'm not trying to mess my set-up up. Thanks for the advice. @deflatedme and thanks for the recommendations I'm gonna look more into it. Because it seems like it would save me money instead of buying coils. But question I had was if I were to buy that would i have to buy that setup again or just the cotton and the wire when I run out?
