Taking a crack at DIY today.

Currently have a 100mL pilot batch mixing up right now. Max VG with a simple Vanilla flavoring.
The exact mix is 85% VG, 5% Vanilla and 10% DI water.
Currently have it spinning on a mix plate that also heats the mixture and I have it set at 50*C.

About how long should I let it mix?
Is 50*C to hot or not warm enough?

I plan on sampling it once it's done mixing to see how I like the flavor and then letting it steep for a couple days.

Thanks in advance!

It's just a basic vanilla flavoring from the store so I'm assuming not all that concentrated.

Just basic flavoring?
Something like this from the store?

Please be sure to let us know exactly what you are planning on vaping if you bought this concentrate (flavor) from a store. A photo with ingredients may get you a much better response.
In the meantime, until you are sure. I would hold off on vaping this.

I assumed that it was ok to use after seeing people suggest buying flavored from a cake store. If not please let me know.

Thanks for helping me too.

please please tell me that it doesn't have any oils in it. Flavorings with oils can be harmful or potentially even deadly.

Well it does say "contains sulfates"....... And I can't say I have used it.

I try to do as much research as I can before I start things like this. I plan on eventually ordering more well known flavors online but I wanted to start out small and spend a small amount to make sure I was ready before diving head first into DIY liquid. I don't plan on making complex flavors either, just simple mixtures.

Well, I went and threw it in my tank and the flavor wasn't bad. The vanilla is barely there though so I might have to up the percentage but I'm going to let the rest of the batch steep for a few days and try it again then let it steep for a full week and see how it tastes.

Check out Bull City Vapor. They have just about anything you could want and they have good prices and very fast shipping. I get DIY from a couple of other vendors, but BCV has things I can't find elsewhere and I'm impressed with their customer service/shipping. I placed an order on Sunday and received it today (Wednesday). And, their stuff is safe, so you don't have to worry.

With glucose syrup as the second ingredient, you're going to have gunked-up coil quickly. The caramel coloring will add to the mess.
I've seen a few Watkins flavorings without those things (I think anise and cinnamon), but those are ingredients in the vanilla are no good for vaping. I dunno about the sulfites, either. Watkins in general are also FAR weaker than the concentrates most DIY vapers use.

I know very little about sulfites, but here's what the wikipedia says
It may cause breathing difficulty within minutes after eating a food containing it.[13] Asthmatics[14][15] and possibly people with salicylate sensitivity (or aspirin sensitivity)[16][17] are at an elevated risk for reaction to sulfites. Anaphylaxis and life-threatening reactions are rare.[12] Other potential symptoms include sneezing, swelling of the throat, hives, and migraine

I think I'm right in saying sulfites are in red wine. A (very) few people are sensitive to them. I have an allergy to sulphur drugs, but I've never had an issue with red wine :)

However, as HIC says, glucose syrup is a no-no in your tank!

I plan on it and I was going to check out what they had but their site was under construction earlier.

I currently have 2 batches steeping in a drawer right now to see how they turn out in a week but I doubt they will be any good. Planning on giving it another try with some better quality flavors next week.
